So you finally called. Two days ago, and I couldn't believe it.

I was sitting downstairs watching some stupid tv show when I heard my phone buzz.

I looked down to see your caller ID, and I felt my heart sink.

I couldn't breathe.

I'm sure when I answered that call it sounded like I had been running. I could barely catch my breath.

I almost forgot why you were calling. But remembered you said you would. And you finally did.

When I answered, the first thing out of your mouth was "Hey Abs."

Just like old times.

It hurt to hear that nickname, especially coming from you.

"Do you need something?" I asked, a hint of hope in my voice.

"Um, yeah your mom wants me to come over and visit. And my mom told me it was a good idea. Do you think we could come Wednesday night? Maybe for dinner or something?" You asked.

You seemed nervous, but how could you not be? It's been what, five months since we spoke? Something like that.

I told you sure, then ended the call as fast as I could.

I didn't know what to say.

I went to bed at ten that night and laid awake until one.

The next day at school you walked past me in the hallway, and you waved.

You waved to me Liam.

Why would you do that?

Before I had the chance to react, Jasmine walked up to you and planted one on you.

I looked away and walked in the other direction even though my class was only a few feet away.

It hurt to see you kiss her.

To see you so happy with her.

That was us not that long ago Liam.

What the hell happened to us?

Your mom called me about an hour ago. She told me she was excited for the dinner tonight because she hadn't seen me in awhile.

By the looks of it, you didn't tell her anything about what happened.

I didn't expect you to.

You've always been one to avoid a bad situation, other than ours.

You ripped that one apart Liam.

And set the damn world on fire.

She asked me how I'd been and why I hadn't come over in so long.

She said we used to spend so much time together and now it's like we weren't even friends.

She was right about one time. We aren't friends.

I told her I'd been busy.

I didn't want to make her upset or mad at you, so I spared her the truth.

She told me she missed seeing me everyday, or close to it.

She mentioned Jasmine to me.

Asking if you'd talked to me about her.

My heart hurt to hear that.

I told her you hadn't told me anything, and that it was okay that I didn't know.

She was your life now.

Your mom sounded a bit off sad when she spoke about Jasmine.

Could it be that she doesn't like your precious girlfriend?

She's not the only one.

I really hope you're happy.

Authors Note:

Should the next chapter be a non-text one? Maybe in Abigail's point of view, but a real life situation type chapter instead of the usual draft message?

Hope you're enjoying!

xx, Bree
