There was a knock on the door.

Me: Come in.

Jayden walked in with a balloon and a big bear.

Jayden: Hi.

I smiled at her.

Me: Hey. Is that mine?

Jayden: Of course. Who else is gone feel better soon?

I sat up with a smile on my face.

Me: What's with the change of heart?

Jayden: There's no change of heart. I'm still pissed at you for petty reasons , but your in the hospital. I had to come and see you.

She put the balloon on the stand thingy and gave me the bear. I hugged it to me.

Me: Well thanks for coming by. Where's Rosa?

Jayden: Last time I checked she was with Kayla and Ariyanah.

Me: Oh. Okay.

Jayden: How you feeling?

Me: Like shit.

Jayden: Well I bought you this huge ass bear and balloon so cheer up.

I hugged the bear tighter.

Me: I'm happy now.

It was quiet between us so I decided to break it.

Me: I knew you'd come to the hospital.

Jayden: How?

Me: Cause I know you. We may argue and be petty towards one another , but that love we got is still there and neither of us can deny that.

Jayden: You know that saying or whatever it is. It goes like "you know me better than I know myself"?

I nodded.

Jayden: Well its true. You do know me better than I know myself.

I smiled and caressed her cheek. Then I thought of Ava making me roll my eyes and pull my hand back.

Me: Where's your girlfriend?

Jayden: Yeah um about that.

Me: What?

Jayden: She's in the hospital.

Me: Why?

Jayden: She got jumped and beat the hell up.

Me: What? By who?

Jayden: Well Rosa beat her ass in the hospital. Then Ariyanah got a hold of her once we pulled Rosa off. Then security escorted us out the hospital. Then they jumped her. Then in the parking lot Anna got a hold of her.

Me: Holy fuck. I gotta applaud them for that. Where were you when she got jumped and beat the fuck up.

Jayden: I was watching.

I laughed.

Me: That's bad.

It was silent between us for a few minutes.

Me: Jayden?

She looked at me.

Jayden: Yeah?

Me: I'm sorry.

Jayden: For what?

Me: For leaving.

Jayden: Don't apologize. Y'all needed this.
