When the farm was out of sight, he finally spoke up.

"My name is Luke," he said with a smile.

"Just Luke? Don't you have a last name or anything," I replied.

"Luke Castellan," he stated. "You really are a lot like your father, you know."

  I frowned.

"Why would I ever want to be like him?"

Luke just shook his head and laughed.

"So, now that you know my name, I would like to know your's. Do you think you could tell me?"

I thought for a moment before answering: "Sam."

Luke smiled wickedly. "Just Sam? Don't you have a last name or anything?"

"I do," I said, "I just don't like telling it to strangers."

"And what makes you think I'm a stranger?"

"Well, I barely know you, and you just took me away from my family!!"

Luke suddenly got serious. "I know. I didn't like it either. But it had to be done."

  "Why," I asked suddenly curious.

"Sam," he asked, " do you know who your father is?"

"Nope. He left before I was born."

And then I added, "I hate him.", just for good measure.

Luke nodded like he understood. Something told me that he felt the same way.

He took a deep breath before telling me, "My father left too. I've only seen him twice. And I hate him and the rest of his...friends. They only care about themselves. That's why I'm working for your father. He's going against them, and I like that."

We walked in silence for a while, and I let that sink in before asking: "Luke?"

  "Yes?"

  "What is my fathers name?"
