54. La'Ritmo — Beyond

You live within a world of scattered headlines here
And there amongst a hidden matrix filled with fear,
   In which true sight is blindness, truth a lying sham;
   And here you live like sheeple, giving not a damn.

You look upon this man-made world with muffled eyes
And take for granted all of it, half-truths and lies,
   When in reality it's part of the programme;
   And here you look like sheeple, giving not a damn.

You feed upon the pretty lies they give to you
And flee the sight of ugly truth with something new
   To put it off, another headline, info-spam;
   And here you feed like sheeple, giving not a damn.

We live within a world of mental slavery,
Where everything is veiled in false hyperbole,
   Where independent thought is patriotic sin:
   How can we let this happen? Will we let them win?

We look upon the slogans of another change
And fear within our hearts another interchange
   Of status-quo ideas concealed in party spin:
   How can we let this happen? Will we let them win?

We feed upon the scandals, tabloids, breaking news,
Without the comprehension of the subtle ruse
   That glue us nightly to our TV screens therein:
   How can we let this happen? Will we let them win?

For here you stand upon the edge of one last chance
To take control of your own lives, to break the trance
   That has you hypnotized, to tread beyond the scam;
   Yet here you stand like sheeple, giving not a damn.

Now here we stand upon the threshold of revolt,
In which our futures die with one more false-flag jolt
   Of dying cops and murdered blacks ere we begin:
   How can we let this happen? Will we let them win?
