   You took my money,
My belongings, and my soul—
   You ev'n took my love!
You took, but I took from you:
You my chasteness, me your seed.

A/N: A tanka is a short poem of 31 syllables (morae in Japanese), usually consisting of the kami-no-ku (upper phrase—5-7-5) and the shimo-no-ku (lower phrase—7-7).
