Previously
Naruto and Kurama went into defense mode sensing a stranger who's chakra signature seemed familiar. Naruto for sure knew that malicious chakra was Itachi. Naruto stood there. Waiting for Itachi to approach. He took out his blood red Katana; the one his mother used to use.

Itachi appeared where Naruto was standing of using a shunshin that left black feathers behind. Naruto sensed this more than ten seconds ago and stepped back two times. Their faces were centimeters apart.

Naruto POV
I saw Itachi playing a lot with Sasuke in the past. That was how I knew him. I also always sensed his malice and the burden trapped inside his kindness. I'm not trying be cocky but I always knew him best even though we were complete strangers. He always seemed to stare into my soul... Maybe it was my
imagination.

Although, Itachi stared my way a lot looking like he knew me the best; like he knew me his whole life. I always had a special feeling towards him.

Itachi POV
It's that boy I always saw when I was playing with Sasuke in the past. I also always sensed the deep sadness hidden behind his bright, warm, smile that always seemed empty. I'm not trying to be cocky but I always knew him best even though we were complete strangers. He always seemed to stare into my soul... Maybe it was just my imagination.

Although, Naruto stared my way a lot looking he knew me best; like he knew me his whole life. I always had a special feeling towards him.

No One's POV
Naruto tried to read Itachi's mind but it was almost impossible. When he broke through Itachi's mind, it was blank. He felt... hurt?

'Haha I was stupid... To think that I thought Itachi had an emotional attachment to me...' he thought. 'but... why does my heart hurt so much yet it's pounding so hard I'm afraid Itachi would hear... Why does my stomach feel like butterflies are fluttering inside?'

"your in love~~" Kurama said. "Are you okay kit?"

Naruto didn't speak.

Itachi felt the sudden sadness radiating from Naruto. 'What's happening? Is there something wrong with him? Is he going to be okay? Wait... why am I worrying so much? What's this feeling inside my heart?... Hm? When did butterflies sneak into my stomach?'

"Uchiha Itachi." Naruto said in his monotone voice. "long time no see." Naruto decided. No emotion. It only gets in the way.

"Uzumaki Naruto." Itachi speaking in a monotone like Naruto. Itachi decided. No emotion. It only gets in the way.

They didn't bother to move their faces away. They just stared into each others eyes. Onyx eyes looking into younger's cerulean eyes; Cerulean eyes staring into the older's onyx eyes. After what felt like an hour, Naruto finally spoke.

"What do you want? I don't sense any danger from you so what did you come here for?"

"Naruto, come join the Akatsuki."

"Do what?" Naruto asked.

Itachi stayed silent while only concentrating on Naruto.

"Kit go join. This might be fun huehehehe."

"Fine, but only for a little." Naruto told Itachi.

"Hn." Itachi nodded indifferently.

Yet again, Naruto was hurt. He didn't show it. No, he would never show his emotions. No emotions.

Itachi felt sadness in the boy shorter than him yet again. 'What's wrong?' No, he would never show his emotions. They were strangers. No emotions.
