I sat down on the couch, exhausted but having no desire to sleep. I needed to solve this as soon as I could, but I had stupidly left the Black Magic book in the boys' bedroom.
I crept over to the room where Sandy, Josh and Dan were sleeping. I ignored the vibrating of my phone for the time being. There was nothing to do.
It wouldn't be solved tonight. I had to accept it. What could I do?
I resisted sleep for as long as I could, but before I knew it I was being shaken awake by Josh.
