"Just a minute, Mom... I really have to take this!!' I heard myself say in the distance. "What's going on? Did you get it?"

"Let me first say, there's no way Mom suspects anything. You're acting just like I would," I laughed nervously. "Anyways, I found not only the book, but something else she dropped."

"Really?? What did you find?"

"Mailey's necklace."

"Mailey..." He paused. "Yes. That's got to be it. But how would she find the time to do it? And HOW did she do it at all??"

"I haven't figured that much out yet. But if you're certain it was a girl, and I'm certain that the figure that ran away ran through the same doorway I found this necklace, then we have our culprit."

"But how does that help us?"

I paused. I picked up the bag with my new, stronger arms and fished through it. I pulled out the book.

"I have the book she left, too. Was it leather and brown?" I asked him.

"I think so,"

"Was the title-"

I stopped, shocked at what I had just read.

"The book was open, so I couldn't see it. What is the title, anyway?" Jon asked.

I hesitated.

"B-Black Magic,"
