A Painful Freedom

You don't love me anymore.
Maybe you never have, and you never will
But that's alright, because I've had my fill.
Of constantly trying to pretend,
That every backlash was supposed to make sense.

I finally realized the things that were deprived,
The people, the laughter, hell, even the light.
So now I'm walking away, I probably won't look back,
I intend to find someone else, who has the qualities that you lack.

They'll fill in the pieces I never knew were missing,
But never mind the chit-chat, you're not even listening!
It's all finally clear, I have no regrets
I did this for me, that's why I left.
Rest assured, I won't miss you, I know you won't lament,
Mind you, I'll learn to forgive, but I'll never forget.
