That's weird she left kinda quickly. Honestly I'm not that thrilled to be going on this date today. Yeah he's cute and all but I actually have feelings for Y/n. I don't think she likes me in that way though.
I mean we flirt with each other sometimes, but I think she sees it as a joke. I've only been dating these guys to try to get my mind off of her and the fact that she probably won't like me back. She never even talks about having interests in anyone. She might enjoy being single. Who knows?
So I said yes to Jake for 2 reasons. One, if Y/n really likes me then she'll do something about this whole date thing. And two if she doesn't I'm just gonna try to get over her again.
*time skip to that evening* (still Lauren's Pov)
I called Y/n over to help me get ready for my "date" with Jake. We've been here for about 30 minutes because every time I pull out something to wear she says no. "How about this one?" I looked at her waiting for the same answer. "No" just like I thought. "Then what Y/n? I've been through almost my whole closet. Everything that I could possibly wear on this date you say no to. I can't go fucking naked. Now help me choose something." She sighed and stood up from her spot she was in on my bed. "Fine. Let's make this quick I have things to do at home." I rolled my eyes at her lie. I could tell she didn't want to be here but I wasn't sure why.
Within two minutes she had an outfit put together and it looked nice yet simple.

Right before I started getting dressed Y/n stood up and walked to my room door "I'm gonna let myself out." She said while looking at the floor. With my current shirt half on half of I turned around confused "why? You can stay until I have to go." She shook her head and turned the knob. "That's alright I'd rather not watch someone else's date get themselves dressed." I scoffed, why the hell is she acting like this. "What's your problem Y/n?! Can't you just be happy for me? I got a damn date. What's the matter with that?! The fucking person I like anyway probably doesn't like me back so why does it matter?"
She turned around in her spot and looked me straight in the eyes. I swear I felt my knees get weaker, but now is not the time. "You know why Lauren?! DO YOU FUCKING WANNA KNOW WHY!" I flinched a little at her tone, she's usually a calm and chill person and she never really raises her voice unless someone can't hear her. "Because Lauren. I love you" I looked at her confused. "I love you t-" she put her hand up and cut me off "Not like that Lauren. I have feelings for you. I've had feelings for you for years now. YEARS! 12 to be exact. Do you know how hard it is to watch the someone you care so much about be with people that isn't them?" By now she had tears streaming down her face. I open my mouth to talk but she put her hand up again.
"Don't you dare say I'm sorry or I don't like you in that way. I already know. I see from the fuckboys you've dated that you don't have feelings for me. I'm just gonna go before I get anymore heartbroken." She then turned around and walked out the door. I stood there in shock. She just said she liked me! Well loved me! Why the hell am I just standing here?! I quickly adjusted my shirt on me and ran out my door down the stairs and out the front door to be met up with Y/n sitting in her car staring at her steering wheel. I ran to the window and frantically knocked on it. She looked at me and rolled down the window. "What Lauren?"
I fiddled with my fingers and looked at the ground then her "I love you too." I shyly smiled. Her eyes got wide and she sat there I'm guessing she was processing what I just said. She sighed and rubbed the sides of her head and said "Lauren this better not be some sick joke. You can't play with people's hearts." I shook my head quickly and attempted to open her door. Sadly it was locked and I pulled it too hard so I stumbled back a bit and fell. Y/n unlocked the door then jumped out to help me up as she tried to fight the smile from forming on her face.
I thought why not have a little fun so as she walked up to me I quickly turned and stuck my foot out so she tripped over it and hit the ground right next to me. She laughed and I couldn't help but smile wanting to hear that for the rest of my life. She smirked and looked at me "I guess it's safe to say we're both falling for each other." I groaned at her terrible yet cute puns. I stood up and helped her up while she was laughing. I couldn't help but laugh at her laughing because it was kind of funny. When we both finally calmed down from our laughing fit I cleared my throat and looked in her eyes. "Y/n I really mean it. I love you. In more than just a friendly way. I want to be with you. Not with Jake. I was only dating those guys because I thought you'd never like me back. Please give me a chance. Give us a chance. I swear you won't be disappointed."
She nodded and hugged me tight. "I love you too Lauren and I will. So can I take you on a date?" She asked. You could still tell she was kind of nervous. "Of course babe. How about right now?" She nodded quickly. "Yeah. Uh let me go change." She said while scratching the back of her neck. "Why can't you wear what you're wearing now?" I smirked. She rolled her eyes at me "Because I'm not wearing a sports bra and shorts to go on a first date. I'll see you in a hour?" She asked as she walked back to her car. "Sounds good!" I nodded.
She got in and started the engine. As she was baking out she stopped and stuck her head out of the window. "Hey Lo" I turned around "Yeah?" She smirked "Make sure to call and cancel with Jake. You're mine now." With that she stuck out her tongue and drove off. I shook my head and giggled her cuteness. I can't wait for this date
