Circus Monster Part 2

Winter's POV:

"Wake up, you ungrateful pieces of shit," the Ring Master yelled.

I groaned in annoyance and many others could be heard complaining for the same reason. Today is another day working the circus,which I hate.

I don't really remember how I ended up here because they said I was really young. I just know that the person who brought me here sucks. A lot. My life here isn't totally unpleasant, but it's definitely far from perfect.

I enjoy the company of most of the people here. I've been with them my whole life so they are, to me at least, my family. I'd do anything to protect the ones I love.

Back to the point...

The rule here is four to a room, so me and three others share a room together. They haven't been here nearly as long as I have but we're still close nonetheless. My roommates and I are different from everyone else, because we have "unique" appearances. I stay with the twins Mia and Rai, and also another girl named Jay.

We four exited the cramped room in a single file line as we stumbled around trying to get the sleep out of our eyes. We headed towards what we like to call the bathroom and showered. It's sucks because there no privacy and we share with the boys.

It's was weird at first but since we grew up like this, it wasn't between us anymore. I was still a bit uncomfortable, but I dealt with it. There are way more boys here than girls so us girls grew up as tomboys trying to fit in. Luckily it worked out for us and now we're "one of the guys", cool right?

After we all showered and dressed ourselves, it was time to set up for the big show tonight. It's our last performance for the week before we leave for our next destination. This also means we'll be trying to recruit someone to join our circus. Our attempts aren't always successful, but at least we tried.

~Timeskip~

"Yah, Winter", Taehyung called me.

I put down the broom I was holding and ran over to his side.

"Wassup", I asked.

He placed his hand on my head and turned my head so that I was now facing the performance area.

"Do you think we'll be successful this time", he asked.

I knew exactly why, too. Taehyung doesn't like what we're doing, we're practically kidnapping children. He always had a soft side for the kids at the shows. He was kind and almost big brother like to them. In fact, he's actually responsible for some of our failed attempts. No matter how much trouble he caused us, I couldn't help but pity and respect him.

"Hyung, I'm honestly not sure", I admitted. "Are you going to interfere this time", I asked looking up at him.

He silently shook his head,"not this time".

He explained to me why he wouldn't interfere. He wanted a little kid to treat like a younger sibling. I couldn't help but pout, I may have been here longer than some of the others , but I'm still the youngest. I honestly felt a bit of jealousy, not too serious though. He saw my expression and laughed.

"Are you jealous?"

"Only a little", I responded honestly.

He held out his arms signaling for me to hug him and I did.

"No one can replace my little Winny The Pooh", he teased.

God, how I hat that nickname, but he's the only one allowed to call me that.

He let go of my head and walked back to his cleaning, as did I. We cleaned for a good two hours before everything was cleaned. Next we have to practice for six hours and then decorate. The struggle is real.

While everyone was gathered in the performance area practicing their skill, I talked with Jimin and Jungkook. Them and Taehyung were my closest friends, we're the youngest and we've been here longer than the others. Back then when we recruited the elder ones we pretended to be lost and had them escort us around until the circus grounds were empty. Then when it was dark we would cry, asking for the parents who left us and then the Ring Master would take us in plus the new recruit who tried to help us. After the recruit was well taken care of the Ring Master would reward us. At first it was a hug to make us feel loved, now we get snacks and/or money. We were really terrible but we did what we were told because the Ring Master was our guardian. We do whatever the Ring Master askes of us even to this day. I even believe we're the most loyal, which makes sense when you think about it. The others dream of escaping, but I honestly I wouldn't mind escaping but this place is my home and we all joined willingly.

While we were talking Yoongi, Hoesok, Jin, and Jay walked over to us.

"What y'all talkin ' bout over here", Yoongi asked.

Jin smacked the back of his head correcting Yoongi's grammar. Everyone else around us saw and snickered at Yoongi's pain.

"Aish", Yoongi yelled, "I'm going to take a nap, if the Ring Master asks just cover for me".

He walked away and we just watched. Yoongi is ticking emotional bomb. He is not someone to be taken lightly, that is a fact. If he's angry its best to just leave him be.

Jin is the oldest and he often acts like a guardian as well, especially to the maknae line. He fed us, listened to us, comfort us, and even discipline us if necessary. If Jin leaves the circus I would too, because even though the Ring Master took is in, Jin is the one who cared for us.

Hoseok was the happy one, he always smiles. I've never once seen a tear or frown on his face. I do see a pout though, but only if it playful. I never want to see him cry none of us do. Of that ever happens we will kill or torture whoever hurt him.

Jay she isn't one of the oldest but she also is not one of the youngest. She's a year older than Jimin and a few months older than the twins.

After we all talked we went back to individual practicing. It's our routine. First individual practice for two hours and then show rehearsal for four hours. A single show is one hour so we practice four times to make sure everything is perfect.

I really hope tonight well put on a great performance. I've grown to love being in the spotlight. I like being noticed even if for only a short period of time. I closed my eyes and wished for a great show like I always do.

Please allow us someone new to join our broken family...

Taehyung's POV:

I hate it here, being in this circus was the last thing I would've expected my life to go to. I hate this place, but the bonds that I've created with everyone here are too strong for me to just leave. I have figure something out. I have to persuade them all that we have to leave. Everything that we've been doing is wrong I'm sure that eight the right words I can get them to leave.

The only problem is the dealing with the others on the maknae line. We're all young and impressionable, it's easy for us to be led astray by corruption. Luckily, I saw the flaws with what was happening in our daily lives. Ugh, I can't even...

It might be easy to get Jimin too, but Jungkook and Winter will be a whole other level since they are the original two.

Too much stuff to do, but we have to leave soon. I'm starting to have a bad feeling about this place...
