TW/// blood, violence
__________
I sat in front of Winnie, holding my arms over her protectively as she cowered behind me. The thumping of my heart was perfectly in sync with the heavy footsteps making their way down the wooden staircase.
I held my breath as I waited to see who was coming down the stairs agonizingly slowly, as if to taunt me.
The first to come into view was the guy from earlier. He looked about my age, maybe even younger. I couldn't quite make out his features, but he was fairly tall, maybe 5'8. He seemed extremely nervous, hands tugging harshly through his hair and body almost trembling.
After him was two other guys who looked fairly similar to one another, they were most likely related in some way. They looked around the same age, so I assumed them to be brothers.
The last one to come down walked straight up to me, looking down and just. . . staring. He crouched down to my level, tilting my face up with his fingers.
"Ah, (y/n). Still as gorgeous as ever." He said to me. I could tell he was smiling, even in the dark. His face was so close to mine that I could feel his hot breath hitting my face, a hint of beer mixed in with the smell of cigarettes and whiskey.
He stayed there for a bit, just looking at me. I tried to make out his face, but the darkness was not all that helpful in my situation.
I could no longer mask my fear, I so badly wanted to turn away from him, but I had to be brave, for Winnie.
"Brad," he turned his head away from me and towards the guys behind him, "get the lights."
One of the brothers turned around and towards a circuit panel that I hadn't noticed on the wall. He opened it with a key he took out of his pocket and flipped a switch, making the lights flicker on and off for a second, then stay on.
When the guy in front of me turned back around, I swear my heart stopped beating all together. I jumped out of his reach, terror taking over my entire body.
The man in front of me looked completely different, yet I somehow still recognized those cold hearted, emotionless green eyes.
His shaggy hair was dyed a deep black, instead of the dirty blond I remembered it to be. There were scars on his face, along with a slow growing beard due to not shaving in a few weeks. Those eyes, however. I would never be able to forget those.
"J-Ja. . . Jacob-b. . . y-you. . . ." I stuttered, unable to comprehend what was happening.
"I'm glad you remember me! Boy, it sure has been a long time, hasn't it?" He asked, standing up and slowly pacing in front of me. "Eight. . nine. . . a little over ten years now? Wow, sure feels a lot longer, huh?"
Whether it was rhetorical or an actual question, I could not for the life of me find any words. I couldn't speak. Fear had ripped the vocal chords out of my throat and was teasing me with them.
"We sure have a lot of catching up to do. But for now, we need to take care of some business." Jacob stated, walking away from me and towards the only window in the room.
"Pretty dark out there. You should've seen it a few days ago, flashing red and blue lights everywhere, illuminating the dark, searching desperately for a little girl and her mother. It sure was a mess." He laughed, continuing to stare out the window.
'A few days?! I thought I was out for a few hours! What the hell happened?!'
"Now, my buddy Zack here," Jacob strolled over to the nervous looking kid and rested his arm on his shoulder. "He was the one responsible for knocking you out all those nights ago. Y'know, when you carelessly ran out of your apartment and right into our hands." He said, seemingly enjoying himself.
