~your POV~

Just as I was finishing my tea, I heard Dan unlocking the front door. I heard the quiet jingling of his keys as he set them down on the table near the entrance, then his sock feet leaving light footsteps as he walked towards the lounge.

"Hey, I told you not to watch The Simpons without me." Dan said as he peeked his head in the doorway.
"It's an old one anyway." I answered monotonously, Dan walking in and sitting on the couch beside me.

"Hazel picked you a flower." He said, lifting up the red tulip and handing it to me. I smiled while looking down at it, then brought it to my nose and took in the sweet scent the flower was giving off.

I smiled at the thought of Hazel picking out a flower for me as I set it down on the coffee table, making a mental note to put it in a vase later.

After a few moments, Dan scooted closer to me and wrapped his arms over my shoulders, pulling me closer to him.

"Are you okay?" Dan asked, resting his head on top of mine. There was a few seconds of silence before I answered.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just tired."

"You don't seem fine to me. I think those night terrors are really starting to effect you." He stated, twirling my hair in between his fingers. "Are you sure you don't want to talk about it?"

"... No, I'd rather not think about it." I said quietly, snuggling my head into his neck.
"Alright. But you know you can talk to me if you need to." Dan told me.

"I know, I will." I replied, letting my eyes close gently. "I love you, Dan."
"I love you too, (y/n)." He said before leaving a kiss on the top of my head.

We sat in a blissful silence for a few minutes, lying together and watching the last bit of the tv show before I spoke again.

"Didn't you say you were going to film with Phil today?" I asked, still with my eyes on the screen.
"Oh, yeah, we were going to record something for the gaming channel, but if you need me to stay with you I will." Dan told me.

"No no, go hang out with Phil." I said, lifting myself up and looking at him. "Just tell Carly to come over here when she can."

"Okay, I'll be back soon then." Dan smiled at me before kissing my cheek, then standing up and heading across the hall.

I stood up, picking up the flower Hazel got for me and walking into the kitchen. I filled a vase with water, and just as I was putting the tulip in, I heard Carly come in the door.

"Hey babe, what's crack-a-lackin?" Carly sang as she entered the kitchen, smiling as she sat on top of the counter.
"Hey, nothing much. You want a drink?" I asked, opening the fridge.
"Sure, pass me a Coke." She said while swinging her legs back and forth.

I grabbed two cans from the fridge, handing one to Carly and sitting down at the kitchen table.
I opened the can and took a sip of the soda, before noticing Carly staring at me.

"Yes?" I questioned, lifting the can up to my lips again.
"Is there something wrong?" She asked, looking at me with squinted eyes.

"Why would there be anything wrong? I'm fine." I lied, playing with the ends of my hair.
"(Y/n), I've known you for how many years? I can tell when something's up." Carly stated, hopping off the counter and taking the seat across from me. "Talk to me."

I finally gave in, letting out a big sigh when I realized she wouldn't let this go until I told her.

"Fine. Well, y'know how I've been having these nightmares for a while?" I said, looking down at my hands. Carly nodded her head, signalling me to continue.
