"Fleur beta,(child) would you like to have some parathas? " asked Mrs Desai as I sat down on a stool around the kitchen island of the Desai household.

"Why are you even asking that question ma? Aapko toh pata hai, Fleur loves her parathas" Tia said looking up from her phone screen. (You know how Fleur loves her parathas)

I glared at Tia while holding up my plate at Mrs Desai "I'd love to have some Aunty"

Tia called me up this morning and asked me to drop by her parents house. She and Jerry were going wedding idea hunting and she didn't want to be late. I loved the Desai household so it was a Yes from me.
I met Tia three years ago when she joined Panache. We instantly clicked and became great friends. It certainly helped that she belonged to an Indian family and their food is to die for.

Mrs Desai served up some hot,steaming parathas and a cup of cardamom chai. I sipped on the chai while Tia laughed.

"And there goes your diet down the drain "

Before I could say anything Mrs Desai tapped Tia with the ladle she was cooking with saying " Chup kar. Just because tu diet karti hai, uska matlab nahi shab karenge, meri Fleur jai shi hai thik haye " (Shut up. Just because you diet that doesn't mean everyone has to diet, However my Fleur is she's okay)

Staying with the Desai's has made me pick up some hindi myself, I grinned at Mrs Desai's defence.

"She loves you more than me" Tia whined

Mrs Desai laughed as she served up brown bread toast and egg white scrambles for Tia.

Both of us silently gobbled up our food, I decided to strike up a conversation.

"So when's the wedding, T? "

Tia looked up towards me with a lost expression on her face.

" Does he love me Fleur? "

" Huh? What are you talking about? "

Tia dropped her phone on the table and turned towards me "What do you think?"

Commitment issues.

Tia has had her fair share of bad relationship so she gets scared when something big happens.

I smiled at her and grabbed her hand "If someone can calm you down after you get scolded back at the magazine it's him. If someone can look at you while his favourite game is going on it's him. If someone can look like a lovesick puppy around you even when you're together it's him. If someone still gets nervous because he doesn't know whether you'll like his new buzzcut it's him. Jerry does everything I told right now T. You tell me does he love you or not? "

" He does. " Tia said.

" See? And tell me when's the wedding? Who are coming? What are you wearing? What's happening? " I rambled on trying to divert Tia's mind from insecurities.

Smiling widely she picked up her phone and started showing me her ideas.

" We're getting married on Christmas eve. It's a month from now. It's going to be a chapel wedding with a vintage feel to it
About 500 guests will be coming, I'll need you to keep s copy of their plans cause you'll be helping me out in the planning. "

"I can't plan weddings Tia! C'mon"

"You can and you will. No excuses "

Guess business Tia is back. I thought.

"Why not hire a wedding planner? Jerry is rich, hire one"

She stop typing on her phone and looked at me in contemplation. After a moment she said "Uh, No. Too impersonal. It's better if the four of us plan it out."

The glint Tia had in her eyes told me I had no other option, she would fight with me till the end and some how I'll end up doing everything.

"Fine." I grumbled "Just because I love your mum's parathas."

"I love you too, Fleur "

Heyo everyone,

Quick and short update coz I get more inspired before my exams. 13 days left and I haven't studied shit :3

Parathas are  stuffed Indian breads, with have a variety of fillings in them. Damn tasty :)

There's some hindi in this chapter, which I've translated roughly. If you don't understand a part just ask me!
