Maya's POV-

"See Charlie." I said, encouragingly. "Your date with Riley is going to be perfect."

"Yeah. Perfect." Said Charlie ,With less enthusiasm in his voice. He didn't really know Riley. All I could hope was that it would go well.

"Charlie." I said ,frowning at him. "Listen,if you don't like her then I'll gladly take you home. Is that okay?"

He nodded, not saying anything. But I then realised something. I hasn't yet come to terms with the fact that .... Riley and Lucas had once dated.
It was going to be awkward when Riley and Lucas were to begin talking to one another.

"Charlie ,You are happy about coming to this date,Aren't you?If not I can always cancel. Your happiness is important to me,your a good friend."

Charlie looked a little saddened but quickly smiled for me. "Yes,it's fine. Honestly,Maya I would tell you if it weren't. Wouldn't I?"

"Mhm." I said to him,Biting my lip.

I couldn't help but feel bad for him getting involved in all of this mess. He hadn't done anything to be involved in this.

"How long is it till Lucas and Rebecca come then?" Charlie asked me ,out of curiosity.

"Riley." I corrected him. "And yes, their both due to be coming here anytime now."

"Great." He grinned at me.

We both waited in silence as we waited for them both to come. Up in the distance I could see a brunette and a blonde talking to each other.
Lucas and Riley. They were making small talk with each other, from the looks of it.

I smiled at Charlie and placed my hand on his shoulder. "You'll do great, Charlie."

He shrugged. "I don't know about that, but oh uh, thank you." He said, scratching the back of his head nervously at me.

I smiled at him and laughed a little.

Lucas and Riley had finally caught up with me and Charlie. "Can we go inside, now?" Said Riley, Smiling Cheerfully.

Charlie looked at me and I nodded. "He would love too." I said for Charlie, nudging him. "Wouldn't you?"

He nodded. "Yeah, I would."

Riley and Charlie walked inside together. Lucas walked up to me before we walked in. "This was a good idea"

I grinned at him. "I'm glad you think so."

He smiled at me. "Shall we?" He laughed, offering his arm to me.

"We shall." I laughed, taking his offer. This was strange, very unlike us to act this way. But I couldn't help but like it, I enjoyed spending time with him.

"You look beautiful, Ms Hart." He chuckled, Winking playfully.

I laughed and smiled at him. "Why, thank you Mr Friar."

We both burst into laughter as we headed over to where Riley and Charlie were sat.
Both of them were sat in silence, looking around the room not saying a single word to each other.

I frowned. There disaster date was my entire fault. However, the evening wasn't over yet ....
Maybe, just maybe, it would go well for them both. Although, I knew this was highly unlikely.

"Hey, guys." I smiled at them both. "Decided on what you want, yet?"

"Oh, uh yeah." Said Charlie, looking up at me.

"And what would that be?" I asked him.

"Well, I want whatever is on offer. I don't really mind. Riley said she wants a tuna melt. Oh, and we both want a smoothie each." Said Charlie.

Riley liked tuna melts? I loved tuna melts! I could scarcely believe we had something in common. This felt extremely weird.

"You like tuna melts?" I asked Riley.

"No, I love them. There delicious!" She declared, Grinning happily.

Lucas smiled at me. "See, it's going great. I'm going to go order everything, will you come with me, Maya?" He asked me.

I nodded. "Sure."

We both walked up to the counter and waited for Topanaga to come over. Topanga was Riley's mother, Riley looked a little like her mother but she was mainly the spitting image of her father, Cory Matthews.
Cory was our history teacher, he was a good teacher too. Despite me hating history, Charlie knew this. He had been the one to help that day when I grew upset. He took me outside and managed to make me more calm.

Lucas had done the same in the past before too --- normally he would. That was, until Charlie volunteered to help me which I found a surprise.

I found it all surprising. How he came to Texas to help with his dad, how he helped me with my temper, how he became friends with me and Lucas quite quickly.
It had always been me and Lucas. But it was quite quickly turning into me, Lucas and Charlie which felt good. Having a few friends felt quite nice, really.

It all felt good. Maybe Riley and me could be friends. Sure, I may not have got along with her at first but maybe that could change ... just maybe.

But then again, I was probably getting ahead of myself.

Topanga Finally came to the counter, with a smile plastered onto her face. "Hello, how can I help you?"

"Hi, we've come to order something. Four tuna melts, please. And do you do strawberry smoothies?" Lucas asked her.

Topanga smiled at him. "We do all kind of smoothies, is strawberry all your after?"

Lucas smiled and nodded. "It is, I'm after four strawberry smoothies."

"Coming right up, if you kids go sit at your table I'll bring you all your food." She smiled.

Lucas handed her the cash which we had all chipped into, me and Lucas walked back over to the table.

"Riley, do you like strawberry smoothies? Do you Charlie?" Lucas asked them both. Otherwise he would have to go back and spend God knows how much on some more.

"I love them!" Said Riley.

"Yeah, they're okay." Said Charlie, shrugging slightly.

"Oh, okay cool." Said Lucas, Smiling.

Me and Lucas were going to have to think quite big if we wanted Charlie and Riley to start a proper conversation.
