My parents finalised the divorce on the day that I lost my vision. I chose my mum, and my brother chose my dad. He would be moving out to be with my dad and his mistress. I never got to ask my mum how she felt that day. Was she as lost as I was?
She never said anything, but that night, neither of us got a wink of sleep. I could feel her body trembling, and whenever she started to sob, I would hear her leave the room.
I didn't open my eyes that night. I wondered if she still loved him.
