~Sparta's POV~
So... I am now living with January and his pack. I mean, our pack. And the pack has been giving me candy canes. See now, they asked me what my favorite food was and I told them candy canes. So, I'm being swarmed with candy canes. Like seriously. I have two cupboards in the kitchen full of them. And I've been eating like absolute mad. I've been training too, much to January's hatred. He doesn't want me hurt. The protectiveness has emerged. Speaking of training. That's what I'm doing now. So, imagine an angry, but scared Alpha and you'll get January. I always make fun of his name. Asking where December is. He always rolls his eyes by never answers my question. Maybe he knew someone by that name. And maybe by asking it, I'm bringing up bad memories. But I make that Joe mainly every morning. Except this morning. He walked up to me after I finished training. He kissed me.
"You never asked me that joke this morning." January said.
"Well, I thought on it. And I didn't realize your reaction every time I said it. You got like all sad and stuff." I said.
"I did?" January asked.
I nodded.
"Mhm. You'd roll yours eyes and walk away. A sad look on your face." I said.
He looked down.
"What? What is it?" I asked.
"I knew a December. He was my best friend three years ago. Until he was killed a car crash. Drunk driver. It was a hit and run. No one found him. And when someone did, he was all bones. Rouges had found him and ate most of his remains. I would know because I was the one who found him. And it struck a bad nerve every time you asked that question. Joke or not." January said.
I looked down. I should've known better. He must've sensed my guilt and sadness. Cause he held me in his strong arms.
"I'm sorry. I should've known better." I said.
"But you didn't know. It's fine, my little Enchilada." January said.
"I still feel bad." I said.
"Don't." January said.
I wrapped my arms around his neck.
"January?" I asked.
"Hm?" He asked.
"I love you." I said.
He chuckled.
"I have a deep regard for you as well." January said.
"Alright... Mr. Sherman." I said.
January chuckled.

I kissed him. Wrapping my legs around his waist. He sighs and gently puts me down.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"I hoped this wasn't going to happen..." He whispered.
"What?" I asked.
"An emergency Alpha was called this morning. I told Jerry, the head council member, that I just found you and I need to teach you some Luna stuff. But he told me that I'm not allowed to stay home. That I have to attend that stupid meeting." January said.
"Okay. How long will you be gone?" I asked.
"A year or two." January said.
And just like that...

My heart shattered.

"W-When are you leaving?" I asked.
"Tonight." January said.
My lips quivered. I'm trying to fight back my tears.
"A war is in order to. So I'll be fighting the war there too. Over the course of that year or two." January said.
"NO!" I shouted.
I clung to him. See I neglected to tell you... But uh...

January and I completed the mating process. First he marked me and I marked him, then we had sex. And now our souls are bonded together.
"You can't leave." I said.
"I have to. My little Enchilada..." He whispered.
"At least spend the rest of the day with me." I said.
"Of course." January said.
And of course to top this off... It's Monday. And you know what...

MONDAY HATES YOU TOO.

That's what Monday tells us all. Every week. So January led me up to our room. And we did the lemon. A.k.a sex.

-------

Sooner than I wanted, night fell. The sky clouded in darkness. January got up. I quickly followed. His suitcase was packed and ready by the door. I clung to his arm.
"Don't go!" I shouted.
He peeled my hands off of his arm. He spun me around so I faced him.
"I love you. More than anything. More than the sun loved the earth. More then the plants love the rain. More than worms love the dirt. More than fire loves the water. I will be back. I promise you. I will be back before you even know it. Believe it!" January shouted.
"Okay." I sniffled.
"Promise me that you'll stay here. Listen to our Beta and our Delta. They'll walk you through the tasks an Alpha female has. Er, a Luna has." January said.
I nodded. He looked at the Beta and Delta.
"Take care of her. When I come back and she's hurt, I will beat you senseless." January promised.
I kissed him. And rubbed his arms. Calming him down. He kissed me with so much love and passion.
"Will I be able to mind link you?" I asked.
"Yes. And I'll respond every time." January said.
And he sealed that promise with a kiss. Then he left.

And as soon as that door shut...

My light was gone...
