The Extra Ninja (A Naruto Fan fiction)

Chapter 7

"Sasuke, I'm in point C." Sasuke's voice comes in through the earpiece.

We got set a real mission today; it's not a very challenging one from what they told us. But it's a mission nevertheless, so we have to do it.

"Sakura, I'm at point B." my female teammates voice is also received when I reach my position.

My feet land on the branch Kakashi had instructed me to go to, for the best results on this mission.

"Zentish, I'm at point D." I say placing my finger on the button.

There is a few seconds of silence before Naruto's voice is received.

"Naruto, I'm at point A. Believe it" It says.

"You're slow Naruto." Kakashi's voice flows through or earpieces. "Ok squad seven, Hmmm.... The Target has moved!"

As Kakashi calls out, a darkened figure flies past me at great speed. It then lands on the ground and leaps into the bushes.

"Quickly, Follow it!" Kakashi instructs us.

The others look out from their respective areas, while I crouch on the branch and look down.

"Over there." Naruto whispers from behind a branch.

The three of them suddenly dash forward silently, while I stay perched on my branch.

"Zentish, where is it?" Naruto asks, looking up at me.

"About five meters in front of you." I say looking ahead at the dark creature.

"What's your distance from the target?" Kakashi asks to which Naruto replies.

"About five meters." Giving me the thumbs up. "I'm ready, just give the signal."

"I'm ready too." Sasuke adds in.

"So am I." Sakura weighs in.

"Me too." I reply, assuringly.

"Okay.... Now" Kakashi calls, giving us the signal.

We all jump out of our positions towards the creature. As we get closer, I see a red ribbon on it's ear. We were instructed to get a cat with a red ribbon on its right ear. This should be promising.

"Ahhh, I got him. I got him." Naruto cries out, grasping the cats painfully.

It manages to turn around. Once facing Naruto, it begins to claw at the blonde, who is now struggling to keep the cat under control.

"Ahhh ohh ahhhhh," He cries. " ahhhhh."

"Come on Naruto, you're not holding it right." I say reaching down, taking the cat off him.

I hold the cat in my arms and begin to calm it down. I don't know what it is, but ever since I can remember animals have always been calm when I hold them, or when I touch them. Could it be something to do with the Rinku Kekkei Genkai?

"Woah, how did you do that Zentish?" Sakura questions, looking at the now purring cat with wide eyes.

"I don't know, it just happens when I'm holding animals." I say smiling.

I look down at the cat, and it looks back at me. I then begin to dangle the toothpick in front of it, and the cat begins to playfully nudge it with its paws.

"Right, lost pet Tora. Mission accomplished." Kakashi says calmly.

"CANT WE GET A BETTER MISSION THAN THIS!?" Naruto yells though the earpiece. "I HATE CATS!"
