Simply Violence

It seems I need to find somewhere to stay

Where I can hide from the demanding twists of fate.

I grew tired of the life I had, sought to change,

But this world wouldn't let me, I saw only your face.

I heard your whisper the other day

Tempting, luring me back into that terrible place

Where you hurt me, oh yes, yes you do

And then you give me roses and wash away the proof.

I resisted, with borrowed strength and forgotten ways,

Hurting myself to heal myself

I've heard it makes you stronger, or so they say.

But the next step my dear, is hurting you

And  I knew, I knew what that would do.

It would send you after me desperate in your chase

To find my soul and put it in its place...

So I found a deep dark corner in which to hide,

From what has to be simply fate, that we all die.
