During the next week, Diana did work around the house while Mary was gone. Since Diana hadn't heard back from anywhere she applied to, Mary urged her to follow up on her own. Diana figured that she would start out at the restaurant where Amy works.

"Oh, Diana? What are you doing here?"
"I never heard back about my application, so I came in to check up about it."
"Oh, I'm sorry Diana. They decided to hire somebody else. Someone with more experience."
"Oh, okay. Thanks. I guess I'll see you around."
"Yeah."
Diana walked outside and checked her list of jobs that she had applied to. Most of them were closer to her new home anyways, so she figured it was not a total loss that she didn't get the job. She also reassured herself that it was okay not to work with Amy- it wouldn't be professional if they started dating as coworkers.
Diana had no clue what to do next though. She stared at her list of jobs.
"I guess I'll start at the top," she said to herself while reading down the list. The Coffee House
