"What?!"

Bianca flinched at my tone.
"She's okay.... We guess."
"Guess?" my voice was sharp. "What do you mean by guess?"
"Victor." the brunette said urgently. He stood up and I ripped off the tube connected to me and swung my legs off the bed. Bianca grabbed my arm, but I shook it off.
"I'm going too."
Victor met my raving eyes calmly.

"Calm down."

"How do you expect me to calm down?"

He scowled. "Percy."

"... She's okay?"

He didn't say anything. Chaos held my arm, and I couldn't shake him off this time.

"Victor's right. Calm down. She'll be fine."

"Why can't I go see her?"

"Just stay here."

Chaos let go of my arm as I let it go limp.

"You just guess she's fine and you tell me to calm down."

Victor sighed. "Don't make me do this all over again."

"Let me see her."

"You're just being stubborn. You don't even like her anyway."

His harsh words slapped me hard in the face. I wondered what he was doing. Was he just being mean or did he really not know? Did he not understand that this still was a touchy subject for me? I stood there dumbfounded, not able to say anything about it.
Victor left with the brunette, and I was still frozen in shock.

Bianca put a hand on my shoulder.
"Percy. You should get some rest. Victor would let you see her when she's better.

My legs felt shaky. I sat down, still looking foward at the door.
"How... How was she stabbed?"
"He threw the knife. She was stabbed in the back."
I ran a hand through my hair. "What happened to the doctor?"
"He's fired. He'll have to go to jail, but he says he's innocent. He sued Victor and you."
"For what?"
"Victor hit him. And you... I'm not sure."
I put my face in my hands.

"What do I do?"

"... It'll be okay."

"You know it won't be."

"Should we call the the rest of the leaders?"

"What about camp?"

"You can't go until the competiton ends."

"When is that?"

"Next week. You have the next match tommorow. Will you be okay with that?"

"Call the leaders." I replied. "We should get the competiton done as soon as we could."

Bianca grabbed my arm. "Percy... Please take care."

I looked down. "I know."

I knew very well what I wanted.

But it wasn't taking care

Annabeth's POV

When I woke, I freaked at Victor's face.

It was dark and as hard as stone, and his blue eyes looked dark in the dim light. When I woke, he snapped his fingers in front of my face.
"Listen carefully. Cause I'm not going to say this twice."
His voice was low and nearly a whisper. I nodded slowly.

"Do you know what Percy's going to do?"

"What?"

He stared at me.

I shook my head carefully.

He sighed.

"He's planning to kill himself."

It took a few moments to get that through my head. Maybe I was hallucinating. I blinked a few times and pinched myself hard.

"It's not a dream."

"... Why?"

"Tartarus is blocking him from dying. I don't know the exact reason- I can't understand it. But it's true. I heard it from him when he was drunk."

"Does he know you know?"

he shook his head. "Forgot everything."

"... We have to block him."

he huffed. "Duh."

"How?"

"We make him want to live."

I felt so stupid for once, looking into Victor's deep, unknown blue eyes. It was hard to speak that word again.

"... How?"

"We make things better. You can try to stay close to him- just try your best."

"... Doesn't he hate me?"

"Are you an idiot?"

"... I am a daughter of Athena."

He sighed and stood up. "Just don't tell anybody about it. You can do whatever. Just..." he hesitated. "Don't hurt him."

he rushed out of the room, and I sat there trying to take in the big juicy bit of info he had just given me in the short amount of time.

Why?

My hands shook. I couldn't imagine it.

Him?

I couldn't imagine it. Was he right?

But why?
