Once you woke up Bruce had already gone off to work but he'd left you a note:

'Good morning my beautiful angel,
I'm so glad I met you all those years ago. These 5 years have been the best of my life and I'm glad that you're my gorgeous wife! I'll see this evening when we'll make dinner together. I'll be thinking of you all day my perfect girl

All my love forever and always,
Bruce'

You smiled and jumped out of bed, happy that you didn't have work that day. You had a quick shower and got dressed before you received a call from your bestfriend asking where you were. The two of you always met up for breakfast together on a Monday morning as neither of you worked on a Monday. You told her you were running slightly late and dashed off to the cafe.

When you arrived she had already ordered you both a coffee which you gladly drank. You chatted a little before a waiter came to take your order. You ordered the usual and went back to chatting. When the food came out your stomach reacted a bit oddly to the smell. Normally your mouth watered when you smelt your favourite breakfast dish but not today. "Are you okay?" Your friend asked. You looked at her and nodded "Yeah I suddenly feel a little off for some reason." You waited a few moments before digging into the food. After two mouthfuls you felt that familiar yet horrible signal. You were going to throw up. You ran as fast as you could to the toilet, luckily all the cubicles were empty and got in just in time to throw up. Your friend came running in just a bit behind you and held back your hair for you. Rubbing your back soothingly. Once you'd finished throwing up you friend gave you a mint and took you home. The pair of you decided you'd spend the day watching sappy romantic films and eating popcorn; well you didn't eat the popcorn as you didn't feel like eating. "Do you have any idea what made you throw up?" You shook your head "No! I threw up a couple days ago in the morning as well!" You frowned for a moment "It was the smell of the food that made me feel sick. The smell of the bacon specifically." Your friend looked puzzled. "But you love bacon!" You nodded "I know!" Your friend jumped up "Do you have any bacon?" You nodded "In the fridge." She ran into the kitchen and you followed, confused. Your friend put some bacon on the grill and dragged you closer. "What are you doing?" You asked. She hushed you "Bend down and smell the bacon." You lent over cautiously and smelt the bacon. You stomach flipped again and off you ran to the toilet to throw up again. Only this time you threw up for ages. It just kept going on! Your fiend was very concerned by the time you stopped. "I think we should go to the doctor." You stood up feeling weak and agreed. So you phoned the doctor and asked if there were any appointments available for that day and luckily someone had just cancelled their appointment that was in 10 minutes! You asked if you could have that slot and the receptionist reserved it for you. Your friend drove you to the doctors and you went in together.

"So what's the problem?" He asked. "Well this morning we went to get some breakfast and when I smelt my bacon I threw up, then later on we cooked some bacon to see if it was that and yet again I threw up but that time I threw up for like 15 minutes straight!" The doctor frowned "Have you ever had a problem with eating bacon before?" You shook your head vigorously "No! I love bacon!" He chuckled "And how do you feel now?" You told him your felt perfectly fine. You also mentioned the throwing up a few days prior. A colleague of his popped her head in and quickly asked for him to have a quick look at a patient of hers. He politely excused himself and said he'd only be a minute. "Oh don't let me forget! I need to buy an anniversary present for Bruce that has to be under £10!" Your friend grimaced and sighed "Under £10?! That's going to be difficult!" You sighed "Yeah I know but it's meant to therefore make the present be more personal and thought-out!" Your friend giggled and shook her head "You guys are so sappy!" The doctor then came back in and resumed your conversation. "Have you had any other odd occurrences in these past few days?" You thought for a moment "Umm I've gained a bit of weight the past couple weeks and I was due on two days ago but I still haven't started - but it's normal to not always start exactly four weeks later, right?" The doctor smiled a little and nodded "Yeah, that's completely normal." You mentally signed in relief but frowned at the doctors next words "But paired with the throwing up and weight gain, that's not completely normal." Your friend shifted in her seat "Is something wrong?" You asked nervously, receiving a bit of a knowing smile. "Are you sexually active Mrs Banner?" You nodded "Then I think you might be pregnant." Your friend gasped while your hand flew to your mouth. "I'm going to advise going to the shop and getting a pregnancy test. If it's not positive then come back and see me." You nodded and stood up. "Thank you!" You called as you walked out. Neither of you said anything until you were in the car.
