I've only called Amy to tell her that I was fine and to ask her if she could tell the school that I would be absent from school for a long time due to a family wedding. Adrian tried to contact me for the first week but gave up when he probably got the message that I wouldn't be replying any time soon.

I was staying at a small town, 1 hour from Sinterburg. (a/n I made this place up...) It was peaceful and I tried to think of possible reasons to why I told Adrian so much, without a second thought.

But it's been 3 weeks and I have to go back because Amy threatened to come all the way here and pick me up if I wasn't back by today.

**

I didn't know what expect when I entered school on a Wednesday, 3 weeks after leaving, but Matt and Amy kissing was definitely not something I'd ever expect. I walked up to them and tapped Amy on her shoulder.

Groaning, she turned around and her face instantly lit up when she saw me. She squealed and jumped on me to give me a hug.

"I c-can't bre-" I tried to speak.

"Babe, I think she can't breathe." But Matt caught me to it.

Amy squeezed a little harder and finally let me go. "I missed you so much."

"I missed you, too." I breathe out.

Before any of us could get another word out, the bell rang and students were going for the classes.

"See you in History." Amy sighed out and hurriedly walked away to her class.

I stood in the middle of the hallway, not knowing why I came back to school today. I was, obviously, not ready for school.

I sighed and walked to my Maths class. I was thinking about how I was supposed to go home, after being gone for 3 weeks. I was so deep in my thoughts that I didn't notice anything until I walked into someone.

I fell with a thump and if my butt had a bone, I'm pretty sure it'll be broken. Wait, do butts have bones? I looked up and a gorgeous pair of green eyes were staring down at me, concern lacing in them. "Are you okay?" He stretched out his hand, waiting for me to accept his help. I took ahold of his hand and he pulled me up. "I'm so sorry, I wasn't looking at where I was going. I'm new and I'm sorry, are you okay? And do you by any chance, know where Mr William's Maths class is at? "

I gave him a smile and shook my head. "It's fine. C'mon, I'll show you where Mr William's class is. What's your name, by the way?" We started walking towards maths class.

"Thanks, I'm Liam Stone. What's yours?"

"Avery Parker." I replied.

"A beautiful name to suit a beautiful girl." He said, smoothly.

A blush rose to my cheeks and stopped outside Mr William's math class. "Thank you. Can we have lunch together? I don't have any friends yet."

"Sure." I opened the door and started to walk in with him.

He grabbed my elbow, "You don't have to send me in."

I wanted to laugh in his face but instead, I shrugged and walked to my seat.

***

"You could've told me that we were having the same lesson." He said, eyebrows scrunching together.

I chuckled and asked him for his schedule, "We have all the same lessons except gym on odd days." Walking away from him, "I have to go to my locker and grab my history book. Meet you at history class?"

"Err, you kinda forgot that I'm new and I don't know my way around here." He stated, looking amused.

"Sorry, slipped my mind." I apologised, sheepishly.

When we got to history class, I sprinted to my seat but I wasn't fast enough because Mr Chesterfield caught me, "Avery Parker, good to have you back. Oh, and you must be Mr Stone. Why don't you introduce yourself, Mr Stone."

"Uh, hi. I'm Liam Stone. I'm from England." Liam introduced himself and scratched the back of his neck.

While Mr Chesterfield was giving Liam the lesson package, I went to my seat, hoping Mr Chesterfield wouldn't notice.

I turned to face Amy when poked me, "What?"

"Where did you find Mr Hotstuff?"

"I literally ran into him while I was walking to my Maths class."

Amy chuckled and diverted her attention to Liam while I just shook my head at her.

I wanted to ask her where Adrian was but I decided against it.

**

When it was time for lunch, Amy was more than happy when I told her that Liam was going to join us.

"So Liam," Amy started, "Why'd you transfer here?"

"My dad had a job promotion that made him transfer here." He answered with a shrug.

"Can I just say that your accent is so hot." Amy stated, bluntly.

Liam's cheeks and the tip of his ears had a pink tint and I couldn't help but pinch his cheeks and laugh at him.

"Guess who?" A deep voice called out.

I turned my head to see Matt covering Amy's eyes. So cute!

Amy's lips turned up, "Hmm, Channing Tatum?" She took Matt's hands off her eyes and turned, "Oh it's just you."

Matt dropped onto the chair beside her and whispered into her ear, causing her cheeks to turn red.

I smiled at how cute they are.

"Let's go get food. You must be hungry." Liam said, standing up.

I nodded and queued for food. I got myself an apple and bottle of mineral water. Knowing Amy, she'd talk to Matt and not get herself food and complain all day about how hungry she is, so I got her a PB&J sandwich with orange juice.

Jake was at the table and a girl was situated on his lap, when we got back. But no Adrian. "Hey Avery, long time no see!"

I gave an awkward laugh, "Yeah, had to attend a family wedding. Anyways, this is Liam."

They did the nod and bump fists. I gave Amy her lunch, and she thanked me. Amy and Matt chatted while Jake and Melissa, I think that's the girl's name, had each other for lunch, if you get what I mean. Liam was messaging and I was deep in my thoughts, thinking about everything and nothing. I couldn't help but to wonder where Adrian was and why his friends are here but he wasn't.

**
It was 3am and I was sleeping over at Amy's house but I couldn't sleep. When I decided that I was definitely not gonna get any sleep, I dressed and got in my car for a midnight drive.

I drove to the cliff, to enjoy the view. I sat there, breathing in the fresh air. I've been, more or less, okay for the past 3 weeks. No worries of getting beaten when I get back to the motel. But now, I was terrified. I can't stay at Amy's house forever, I had to go back sooner or later.

I stayed long enough to watch the sunrise, and it was beautiful. I checked my phone and it was already 7 and I had to get back to get ready for school.
