Oh. So that’s what this was about.
I sighed, tucking my hair behind my ear. “It was late. No taxis were available. He offered.”
“You could’ve called me.”
The words were simple, but they carried weight.
I gave him a look. “Oh yeah? And what if someone saw us? Some of my classmates were still around. What if someone followed us?”
His lips curled into a smirk, but it didn’t reach his eyes. “Nowadays, they don’t follow us like they used to.”
He took a step closer, closing the distance between us. “Maybe they finally believed my drama completely.”
Han Wool sighed, shaking his head. “But that’s not the point.” His gaze darkened. “Nowadays, he seems like he’s following you.”
I frowned. “Are you serious? Tae Sung is busy. He has work. He isn’t a stalker, Han Wool. He’s not that desperate.”
Han Wool narrowed his eyes. “I don’t know,” he muttered. “That day when we had that little accident, he was all smiling while looking at you.”
I held back a laugh. “And?”
Han Wool scoffed. “I wanted to punch that guy.”
I sighed, stepping closer, reaching for his arm. “Calm down, Han Wool.”
His muscles tensed under my touch.
“No one is stalking me. No one is following me. You’re just imagining things.”
Han Wool studied me for a moment, then exhaled sharply. “Nah,” he said. “He seems like he’s giving you a ride a lot.” He crossed his arms. “Does he have a crush on you or something?”
I blinked, then rolled my eyes. “You’re being ridiculous.”
“I’m being right,” he corrected.
I sighed deeply, then gently turned his face toward mine. He stilled under my touch, his lips parting slightly as he looked down at me.
“Tae Sung doesn’t have any feelings for me,” I said softly.
Han Wool arched a brow. “You sure?”
“Even if he did,” I continued, my voice steady, “I only want you.”
The teasing light in his eyes flickered, replaced by something deeper, something unreadable. He stared at me for a long moment, like he was searching for something in my face.
Then, finally, he exhaled.
“Good,” he murmured.
I smiled, squeezing his wrist lightly. “Are you done being jealous now?”
“Hmm, for now,” Han Wool murmured, his voice low and playful, but there was something deeper lingering underneath.
I smiled, squeezing his wrist lightly before suddenly realizing—
We were standing right in front of my house.
My stomach dropped. “Oh shit,” I whispered, jerking my hands back.
Han Wool raised an eyebrow. “What?”
I took a step away from him, quickly looking around. “I forgot that we’re under, like, a lot of eyes right now.”
His lips twitched. “Ye Na, everyone’s asleep.”
“You think they’re asleep,” I corrected, glancing at the windows of my house. “But people in this family have hawk eyes.”
