A hazy blur.
Cheonga's eyes fluttered open. A sterile white ceiling stretched above her. The air smelled of disinfectant.
She blinked slowly, her body feeling oddly light, yet heavy at the same time.
What happened?
She turned her head slightly, scanning the room. Empty.
No doctors. No guards. Just... silence.
She pushed herself up, her muscles aching but intact. A strange sense of calm lingered in the air, making her uneasy.
Then she saw it.
Her phone.
Sitting on the nightstand.
She reached out, grabbed it, and checked the time.
Her heart dropped.
One day.
An entire day had passed.
What the-
Before she could process it, her phone buzzed.
A text.
Ga-Min: Han Wool has been arrested. You should come, wherever you are. They've taken him.
Her breath caught in her throat.
What?
No. No. That's not possible.
Her pulse pounded in her ears.
This wasn't just about her anymore.
Han Wool.
She threw the sheets off and stood up, her body swaying slightly before regaining control.
The door.
She strode toward it, her heartbeat loud in her skull.
She barely made it three steps before-
Click.
The door swung open.
A doctor stepped inside, clipboard in hand. Middle-aged, cold eyes, composed.
"You're awake," he stated. No emotion. Just observation.
Cheonga's jaw clenched. "Move."
The doctor didn't react. "You should sit. You've been under heavy sedatives-"
"I don't care." She took another step forward, voice sharp. "I'm leaving."
The doctor exhaled, tapping his pen against the clipboard. "You shouldn't."
Cheonga's patience snapped.
She shoved past him, moving into the hallway.
"Bae Ye-Na-"
She ignored him.
Her footsteps quickened. She ran.
Past doctors. Past staff. Past guards stationed along the halls.
Strangely-none of them stopped her.
They only watched. Some exchanged glances, but none moved.
Something was wrong.
But she didn't care.
Han Wool.
That's all that mattered.
The exit was in sight.
She burst through the doors-
And stopped.
