Ga Min sat across from me, flipping through his notes with a deep frown, probably realizing half of his answers were wrong again. Jun was beside him, casually leaning back in his chair like studying was just a minor inconvenience in his life. Seo Hyeon, as always, was scribbling something in the margins of his book, completely absorbed.

On my side, Hee Won was chewing on her pen cap, eyes narrowed at her textbook, while Ji Woo let out a dramatic sigh, slamming her book shut.

“I swear, if I read one more sentence about this, my brain is going to melt,” Ji Woo groaned, stretching her arms over her head. “Where’s Geon Yeop, by the way? He isn’t here today.”

I glanced at her, noticing the small frown tugging at her lips.

Hee Won looked up from her book. “Now that you mention it… Yeah, he’s been missing a lot lately.”

Seo Hyeon shrugged. “Maybe he’s just not interested in studying with us.”

Ji Woo scoffed. “Or maybe he just doesn’t care at all. He’s always off doing who-knows-what. That guy surely keeps secrets.”

A strange feeling settled in my stomach. She wasn’t wrong. Geon Yeop was secretive. He had been acting distant for a while now, slipping away whenever he could, never giving clear answers about what he was up to.

Ga Min pushed his glasses up, looking between us. “Maybe he’s just busy.”

“Busy with what?” Ji Woo rolled her eyes. “He never tells anyone anything. He just disappears, and when he does show up, he acts like nothing happened.”

Jun sighed. “Why does it matter? He wasn't a member of the study group at the first place, I feel like he is up to Something".

Ji Woo crossed her arms. “Me too, something doesn't seem sit with him".

I tapped my pen against my notebook, staring at the empty chair Geon Yeop usually sat in.

Whatever.

The bell rang, signaling the end of the study session. With a sigh, I gathered my books and I walked to my class.

I walked to my seat, slipping into my usual seat near the window. The moment I sat down, my eyes caught something unusual—an envelope resting neatly on my desk.

Frowning, I glanced around the classroom, but no one seemed to be paying attention to me. My fingers hovered over the envelope for a second before picking it up. It wasn’t addressed to me—there was no name, no markings—just a simple, plain envelope.

Curious, I carefully peeled it open. A small, folded piece of paper slipped out.

The handwriting was sharp and precise.

They are after your father. If you want to save him, go to this address:

Black Veil Research Facility
Hidden Pines Forest, Sector 7
Latitude: 46.2751° N, Longitude: -121.8132° W

You will get all the answers you’ve been searching for.
You can stop them before it’s too late.

My hands clenched around the note. My father?

A chill ran down my spine.

I quickly shoved the letter back into the envelope, scanning the classroom once more. No one was watching. No one seemed to know.

I needed to be alone.

With my heart pounding, I stood up, gripping the envelope tightly as I walked out of the classroom. I kept my head down, trying to steady my breathing as I made my way to the nearest washroom.
