"I would've done it myself," I mumbled.
"Yeah, in an hour."
I huffed but didn't push him away when he reached for my shoes. As I took a step toward the door, a sharp ache shot through my legs, making me wince.
Han Wool's eyes widened. "Oh my god, are you okay?"
I nodded quickly. "I'm fine. It's just... probably because it was my first time."
His face went from concern to guilt so fast I almost laughed. "Did I hurt you?"
I shook my head. "No, really, I-"
He cut me off by crouching in front of me. "I'm carrying you."
"What? No, Han Wool-"
But before I could protest, he scooped me up effortlessly, cradling me against his chest. I squeaked, wrapping my arms around his neck.
"You're ridiculous," I muttered, cheeks burning.
He grinned. "I know you love it."
I huffed, but I didn't ask him to put me down. He carried me out like I was the most precious thing in the world, his grip strong yet gentle.
When we reached the car, he opened the door with one hand and carefully placed me inside, his hands lingering as he made sure I was comfortable.
Before stepping back, he leaned in, pressing a soft kiss against my forehead. Then another on my nose. Then finally, a lingering one on my lips.
He pulled away slightly, his eyes filled with something warm. "Let's get you home."
The drive was quiet at first, a comfortable silence settling between us as the city lights passed by in a blur. Han Wool had one hand on the wheel, the other resting lazily on the console between us, his fingers occasionally tapping against the surface in rhythm with the soft music playing in the background.
I stole glances at him, still trying to wrap my head around everything. The way his jawline looked sharp under the streetlights, the way his lips still held a hint of a smirk as if he knew exactly what I was thinking.
"What?" he asked, catching me staring.
I quickly turned away, looking out the window. "Nothing."
He chuckled. "You're staring at me like you just realized I'm incredibly handsome."
I scoffed. "You wish."
"Oh, I know." He glanced at me, grinning. "It's okay, you can admit it. It won't hurt my ego."
I rolled my eyes. "Your ego doesn't need any more boosting."
He gasped dramatically. "Excuse me? You were literally just clinging onto me like I was your lifeline a few minutes ago."
My cheeks burned. "Shut up."
He laughed, shaking his head. "You are blushing."
"I'm not blushing."
He reached over, gently pinching my cheek. "You totally are."
I slapped his hand away. "Focus on driving, idiot."
He grinned but didn't push further. The car fell back into silence, but this time, it was warm, filled with unspoken things we both knew but didn't need to say.
Then, out of nowhere, Han Wool casually said, "By the way, I know I'm not the only one who planned all this."
I frowned, looking at him. "What do you mean?"
