I don't say anything. I just watch him.
Then he shakes his head, standing up. "I won't cheat on Harin."
I tilt my head, my voice quiet. "Even if you love her... I'll take you."
Han Wool exhales sharply, looking down at me with something like frustration. "I'm tired, I'll stop here. Good night".
And I watched his figure slowly fading into the hospital.
He seems really uncomfortable near me.
______________
The first thing I registered was the dull ache in my body-the exhaustion from yesterday still lingering in my muscles. My head felt heavy against the pillow, but not as heavy as my heart.
I blinked at the ceiling, letting out a slow breath.
Maybe... maybe I should stop.
The thought settled over me like a thick, suffocating fog.
I didn't want to make him uncomfortable. I didn't want to be the reason he felt trapped, conflicted, torn between two worlds.
But I also-
I also couldn't just let him go like that.
Because he was mine first.
A sharp sting spread through my chest, and I clenched my fists over the blanket.
Would it be selfish to fight for something that was already lost?
Or was it selfish to walk away and pretend that none of it mattered?
I closed my eyes for a moment, inhaling deeply, before forcing myself to sit up. The world felt heavier than usual, but I moved anyway.
One step at a time.
I freshened up, splashing cold water onto my face as if it could wash away the thoughts that refused to leave. But even as I changed into fresh clothes, even as I pulled my hair up and prepared to step out of my room, I knew-
The ache wasn't going anywhere.
I pushed open the door, stepping into the quiet hallway. Morning light filtered through the windows, casting long, golden shadows on the floor. The air smelled faintly of breakfast.
I moved forward, my steps slow, absentminded.
And then-
I saw it.
Harin's bedroom door was cracked open just slightly, just enough for a sliver of the room to be visible.
I wasn't curious. I wasn't even thinking.
It was just a glance. A second.
But it was enough.
Han Wool sat on her bed, his back straight, his hands resting on his knees. His face was unreadable, devoid of expression.
And Harin-
Harin stood between his legs, leaning into him, her hands gently cupping his face.
She was saying something, her lips moving softly, her fingers brushing over his skin as if he was something fragile, something precious.
I stopped breathing.
Something inside me cracked.
It wasn't just the sight of them together. It was him.
Sitting there, letting her touch him like that.
Not pulling away.
Not stopping her.
