Ciara Waxhaw, 23, was scared of what she just saw. She couldn't believe that she had lost her best friend to the phenomenon called objectification. Watching her best friend turn into a sapient paper airplane with no memories of who she was once before? It was a horrifying sight, and right now, everyone was running away from the sight, except for Ciara, who was standing right in front of the very object that took her friend's place.
"Come on Payne... I know that you are still in there... please... don't leave me..." Ciara sobbed.
"I don't know who you are!" Paper Airplane cried out in confusion on what was right in front of him, "And who's Payne? Is that an object?"
"No, that's not an object, it's a human being, she's my friend!" Ciara didn't realize the futility in the attempts, even if her gut was telling her that she was in danger.
Ciara missed those times when she and Payne would do a whole lot of art, without a care in the world. Why can't people go back to living their lives in peace? Why can't they go back to the times where people don't have to worry about being transformed into object creatures?
Suddenly, someone came in building, it was none other than Gaia herself. Gaia had a wide grin on her face as she glared at Ciara.
"It has been a long time since I have last saw you! And about your best friend? She's no longer in there?! Why would you waste your precious time saving what's already lost forever?" Gaia scoffed.
"What the fuck are you talking about, you fucking psycho bitch?!" Ciara asked, "You have taken away my best friend! You better change her back now or I will take legal action against you!"
"Oh, is poor little Ciara going to sue me?!" Gaia mocked Ciara, snickering, "Well, sadly, I am afraid that I can't let you do that! You should realize that being an object isn't half bad at all, that there is a better life for you!"
"You are insane! You and those like you have been turning people into helpless creatures!" Ciara scoffed, "And I don't call them helpless in an empathetic way either!"
"Helpless creatures? Is that so? Objects are more than that! Some can say that they're just like us humans, but with different quirks derived from their inanimate counterparts!" Gaia snickered, "Come on, join in on the fun! I know that you want to!"
"Never! And you're fucking lying! Quit your damn gaslighting!" Ciara shouted, "Why you're so insistent on killing people!"
Gaia slapped Ciara across her face, "Well, I am not fucking killing anyone! I am just giving them better identities, lives that they couldn't even imagine having, an escape from normality per se!"
"If you alter the minds of your victims, then your altering their sense of self, you're killing their personality and other aspects of the mind! You're erasing them, you are still murdering them!" Ciara shouted.
"Don't call that murder, Crayon!" Gaia scoffed, "As long as that person is alive and breathing, I am not killing anyone."
Ciara whimpered, "N-no! I am not going to be transformed into an object! Not when I have a say in what happens to me! And I say no!"
Gaia scoffed, "Do you really think that you have a choice in the matter? How naive?"
Gaia pulled out a syringe that looked like a crayon, a yellow crayon to be exact, she was planning to transform people, regardless if anyone consented to this or not. She had to make Object Overload real, no matter the cost.
"The last time I checked, we are just playing a sick game, your choices don't matter, nothing you say or do matters here!" Gaia snickered, as she inched closer and closer towards Ciara, hoping that she'd get a fearful reaction from Ciara.
"No! This can't be, this is not right, I am not supposed to-" Ciara was trying to find words to protest against the fact that Gaia had her cornered, backed up against the wall.
Gaia covered Ciara's mouth, "Nuh-uh, this isn't of your choice, this is all fate, and it already had caught up to you!" Gaia snickered, "As it should be!" She injected the fluid right into Ciara's bloodstream, as Gaia relished in her screams of agony.
