All along there were an invisible string tying you to me

I drove Jen and myself to a dress shop neither of us had ever been to, but both of us were willing to try it out.

We both were trying on very different outfits with very different outcomes to them.

We both did have very different styles, so it wasn't too surprising to me.

"So you're going with Henry, right" I ask.

"Yes, but I hope he doesn't expect more than he is getting. I just hope he isn't like the other guys our age."

"I wouldn't be too worried about it" I tell her. "I mean he shouldn't try to pull off something he is going to regret."

"I know I just am always worried with teenage boys" she admits.

"That's good, you never know with them" I laugh.

"So what's with your teenage boy" she laughs and smiles.

"Jen" I look at her disappointed.

"I know, I know 'Jen we've gone over this, we are friends' bullshit over again. I know what's up. You like him. He likes you. It has to happen."

"It doesn't have to happen Jen" I say trying to play it off.

"You're lucky I see a dress I really want to try on" she says as she walks away and goes to try it on.

I really didn't think I could tell her. It was a bad idea. Not because it's Jen, I trust her with my life, but telling anyone could be dangerous.

She comes out looking great in the cutest dress she could find.

"Buy it Jen, it looks so cute" I tell her as she excitedly stands in her cute dress.

"I will, but you have to find one now" she says as she shoves me into the dresses I could try.

I scan the whole place for some sort of dress and don't find anything. I mean I don't find anything at all. That is until I get to this one dress, a dress I love so much that I have to try it on.

I nervously walk out with it in, what if it isn't cool? Or if it doesn't fit? Or if it looks ugly on me?

Jen watches me with a happy look, maybe she likes the dress.

I nervously walk to the mirror and look. I absolutely love it.

"You have to buy that dress" Jen tells me.

We both walk out with dresses and go eat ice cream or something.

"I mean you like him, he likes you. What's wrong?"

"Jen, there's so many things. Dawson, Andie, and everything in between."

"That's like three things. Some are reasonable, but can be avoided. Come on Daph, I know you're smart enough for these things. I know something is up."

"Jen as much as I wish something was going on, there isn't" I lie. I hated that I was lying, but I had to. Maybe i could hint at something. "Although maybe."

"Wait what? What is it?"

"I'll just leave it at that" I tell her and wink.

"Fine, I'll figure something out with what I am given" she tells me. I can't help but just laugh at her.
