All along there were an invisible string tying you to me
Jen was asking for my help setting up for the gala tonight, said I needed one other person too.
I ring his phone, but it's sort of early on a Saturday.
He picks up.
"Hello" he asks into the phone.
"Hello pacey" I say. "Remember how we are doing stuff to help each other out? I need help."
"This early" he says yawning.
"I mean it's not only helping me I mean it's helping," I reiterate. "helping the whole community"
"Daphy I wasn't going to say no I was just wondering why you were waking me up so early in the morning, I'll be at your house in five."
I wait on the patio step, I didn't need Dawson to wake up and be mean.
His truck rolls up and I jump in.
"So what am I helping with now" he questions me on.
"Setting up for the gala, the homecoming queen one Jen is hosting" I tell him.
"The one neither of us are allowed to go to?"
"Well it's nice for Jen" I tell him.
We drove to the random house that Jen was holding it and parked outside. There is barely anyone in there setting up.
"Hello" pacey yells as we walk in.
"Jen" I call out.
"Oh hey guys" she said walking over to us. "I see you brought an extra, thank you Pacey."
"Of course" he smiles. "I had to cancel my long list of plans to be here, but I'm alright" he says sarcastically.
"Well what do we need to work on" I ask her.
"Could you guys go set up the stage a bit, decorate it. The decorations are on the stage, so just set it up nicely. And can you make sure the mic works?"
"Yes we can" I tell her. "Come on Pacey."
He follows behind me as we walk to the stage.
He grabs the mic and swings it a bit. He looks at me and checks it.
"Testing, testing. Is this thing on or am I wasting time?"
