All along there were an invisible string tying you to me
I could feel the nervousness of not telling people the whole situation when I was around my best friends.
Jen, Joey, Jack, and I all walked in the hallways talking.
"I can't believe this year is this close to being done" Jack expresses.
"Yeah but it still feels so long" Jen complains.
"I mean we only have senior year after this, that's scary" Joey says, freaking me out.
"I mean I'm still scared that this summer is coming" I tell them.
"Why" Jen asks.
Because I really didn't know what the plan was with Pacey. Was he going to sail away on a boat for months without me and I stay at home a wallow like a sailors wife?
"Because it means we are closer to senior year, like Joey said" I play it off.
"God I cannot wait for it to be summer" Jack tells us all. "I am done with school for a while."
"Me too" I laugh and go along with it.
I see Pacey and Dawson talking and walking in the hallway together, across the hall. I hold my breath and see we will pass.
I smile to my brother and our groups exchange our different greetings and goodbyes. Pacey and I exchange glances and pass by lightly touching our pinkies to each other.
I don't totally know how to feel about a secret relationship, but it did have it excitements.
After school, I decided not to go to student council.
Ballet only lasted August to May each year, so I was done.
Pacey met me in his car after school, but way after as to not get caught.
We drive and go back to his house.
"So what are we going to do while we are here" I ask.
"You know the thing about dating" he starts. "Is you don't always just to make things up to hang out."
"We hang out everyday" I defend.
"And just say we are studying, but now we only have to tell other people we are studying. We know the truth" he raises his eyebrows.
"And what is that truth?"
"That you are my girlfriend" he says swiping me and throwing us both onto his bed.
"Gross, I'm dating Pacey Witter."
"Oh you are so lucky to be dating this" he says pointing to his face.
