Chapter Twenty

"I miss being naive about things" Joey adds.

"I just miss being that age overall" Jen reminisces. "I miss it."

"So why don't we" Andie says. "Let's be kids again.

"How would we do that" Joey says skeptical.

"Let's go roller skating or something" Andie says excitedly. "Come on it'll be fun."

"I'm not too sure" Joey says. "It's been a while."

"We'll just relearn" she shrugs.

"I mean I'm in" Jen agrees.

"I guess I'll be in too" she agrees.

"What about you Daphne" Andie asks me, although my mind is elsewhere.

"Huh" I ask.

"Wanna go roller skating" Joey asks expectingly.

"Oh sure" I smile and go along.

"Okay well I gotta get my shoes" Andie says as she leaves the room.

"Oh me too" Joey does the same.

It's just Jen and I.

"Daph are you okay" she asks.

"Oh I'm fine" I smile to her.

"Well if something happened, in the endless possibilities, with a certain person last night you can let me know" she hints to me.

"Pacey kissed me" I whisper to her without even fighting to say. I knew she wouldn't tell, she's my best friend.

"Witter finally did it" she laughed. "I knew he liked you."

"Well he can't, he can't like me. And I can't like him."

"He can, he is able to."

"You're right, he may not. I will not allow it."

"And why not" she smiles.

"Andie and Dawson, do you know how much drama will come of this? And it's Pacey, out of all people, Pacey."

"I do know. But do you know that he can't control these feelings?"

"I get it, but can he control what he does?"

"Oh Daph, I feel sorrow for whatever fellow marries you and your overthinking mind. Whenever you become Mrs. Pacey Witter" she laughs to herself.

"Oh get that out of your mouth and mind Jen" I say sternly. "I came to you for support and advice, not stupid jokes."

"Well it'll get figured out, you just need to figure it out with him. And that you like him."

"There is nothing to figure out, I don't like him like that. Or frankly at all."

"Sure, sure."

"Well" I say beginning to change the conversation. "How is the thing with Henry going? He still acting weird?"

"I know what you are doing Daph" she pauses for a second. "But he's still acting weird and I don't know what I did."
