Okay, so I know this isn't a one-shot from a fandom, but I wrote it for my English academy and decided to publish it, because why not? Prepare to cry...😭

I stood at the edge of the cliff. The wind blew in sharp, cold gusts around me. As I prepared to jump off, I recalled my journey.

It had started fine. I had been so excited to have an adventure in my once-boring life. But...

My brother's betrayal. My mother's death. My best friend's suicide.

All the people I had loved...were gone.

End my life? I would gladly do so if it could end the pain and misery it had become. If you had told me a few months ago that I would end my life willingly, I would have laughed in your face.

Yet here I stood now, staring at the churning, foreboding water below.

I began to cry big, ugly tears that streamed down my face and wet the ground. What had my life become? Why did I have to be the one who suffered? Life was so, so unfair. No, my life was unfair. I grit my teeth. And it was time for me to let go of the thread that bound me to it.

I took a deep breath. One step forwards, and I was falling, plummeting towards the ocean. As I reached the water with a splash, and my vision began to darken, I saw my mother, a peaceful smile on her face, reach out a hand towards me.

And I grabbed it, gladly.
