Yes, I know. This is cliche. But there are a lot of these and they looked fun so why not?
POV Sophie
Faint blue letters were starting to appear on Sophie's wrist.
She was nervous.
Today, the last day of the year she turned sixteen, Sophie would find out who her soulmate was.
The blue writing indicated that he would have blue eyes. To be specific, sky-blue ones.
The only person she knew to have those aquamarine eyes was her sort of crush, Keefe Sencen.
But it couldn't be, right? Keefe was waaay out of her league. He was cute, popular, athletic, smart; everything a girl could wish for.
After thirty minutes of staring at her arm, Sophie stood up, restless. The writing was still undecipherable. She sent a text to her friends:
What's up, guys? -Sophie
The reply came instantly.
Waiting for my soulmate tattoo to appear. It's taking ages. I'm bored! -Biana
Want to hang out? -Sophie
Sure! Come over to our house. -Biana
Okay, see you soon -Sophie
Sophie put her phone down, got changed into a comfortable brown shirt and jeans, and walked out the door.
"Going over to Biana's, Mom!"
"Okay, be back until dinner!" Edaline, Sophie's foster mother, called back.
A few minutes later, she was in front of Biana's house. The Vacker mansion was certainly huge, since Biana and Fitz's parents were rich.
Sophie rang the doorbell, and a few moments later Biana was at the door.
"Sorry," she said, her teal eyes apologetic. "My brother was making out with the chandelier again.
"He was what?!" Sophie exclaimed, laughing.
"Kissing the chandelier. You're lucky to have missed it."
"I wanna see!" Sophie grinned.
"Follow me," Biana said mischieviously.
They walked into the living room, which was more like a hotel lobby, and indeed, Fitzroy Avery Vacker was tangled up in the enormous chandelier, pressing his lips to any open space, his eyes closed and an expression of utter bliss on his face.
"Oh my god Fitz what the heck are you doing?" Sophie said, eyes wide.
Fitz opened his teal eyes and blushed when he saw Sophie. He untangled himself and cropped to the floor, hitting it with a thump.
"Nothing," he said, flustered. "I was just...merely observing the beauty of my Chandi."
"Your Chandi?" Biana echoed, cracking up.
Sophie joined her, and they rolled around on the floor laughing their heads off.
Sophie had never thought Biana would be so nice. At the beginning of the sophomore year at Foxfire High, Sophie had thought the youngest Vacker was a stuck up, princessy jerk, and Biana had thought Sophie was a total nerd. However they had cleared the air several months before today, and now they were friends.
"Okay, let's go to our room," Biana said, composing herself. "Away from Chandelitz's makeout sessions."
Fitz started to protest, but Biana shut him off with a glare.
"Sure." Sophie tried not to laugh, following Biana upstairs to her room.

"So," Biana said, plopping down on her huge bed. "Show me your tattoo!"
Sophie scooted next to her best friend and showed her her wrist. The letters on her wrist, her soulmate's initials, had almost fully appeared by now.
"K...C...S," Biana read, squinting. "Who do you know that has those initials?"
Sophie's heart jumped. Those were the initials of...No, it couldn't be...
"Keefe Sencen!" Biana exclaimed. "Sophie, your soulmate is Keefe Sencen!"
"No," Sophie argued. "For all we know his middle name doesn't even start with a C!"
Biana smirked. "Actually I was friends with him in eighth grade, and guess what his middle name is?"
"What?"
"Cassius!"
Sophie's stomach did cartwheels, but she tried to hide it. "Enough about me, now how about you?"
Biana side-eyed her, knowing Sophie was changing the subject, but gave in and revealed her wrist, on which silver-blue letters had appeared.
"T.D.S.," Sophie read. "T.D.S.! Tam Dai Song! Biana, your soulmate is Tam!"
Biana blushed immediately but tried to hide it. "Tam Song? Like the kid in our year who is emo, defensive, smart, hot, and-"
"Hot!" Sophie declared. "You like him, don't you?"
"No!" Biana said defensively. "He's Linh's sister, for gods' sake."
"He likes brunettes, you know. Linh told me."
Biana's face reddened and she groaned. "Just because I like him doesn't mean I'm his soulmate, Sophie."
"Well I ship it! Tiana. Amazing ship name."
"Shut. Up."
Sophie laughed. She was 100 percent certain that Tam and Biana were soulmates, and she was happy for her best friend. If only she could find hers...
Both Sophie and Biana's phones buzzed, and Sophie picked hers up, frowning at the screen.
"It says we have to go to Eternalia Square for a meeting. All sixteen-year-olds."
"Regarding our soulmates I guess?" Biana said, and Sophie nodded agreement.
"Come on, let's go."
Part two's coming out soon! Actually today. Stay tuned guys!
