Gay Marriage [Devotional]

I am about to cross into a loving yet honest unfolding of the topic of same-sex marriage... I saw on my examinination of Wattpad in a rant that being gay is not a sin. And this was posted by a young Christian whom I have dedicated this to... I believe in the love of God as much as any Christian should. I am adamantly for loving gays as much as we love ourselves and treating them with mutual human respect... But, now this is going to be the harshest part of the post... But don't worry it won't be too harsh... How unloving and disrespectful to the Church would I be if I did not come out and be honest with them?

In Leviticus(which brings up what the law is), they uncovered a lot on sexual immorality... Including in Levitcus 18:22; Leviticus 20:13; which speaks on homosexuality [Deuteronomy 22:5 speaks on cross-dressing]. Also, I've often seen Christians have this attitude that since we have been freed from sin, we are allowed to continue in a sin, knowingly doing that which God hates... I would mention that Romans 6:1-7 says,

"Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? 2 Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? 3 Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death? 4 For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. 5 Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was. 6 We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. 7 For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin."

It breaks my heart to see others continue in a sin that is obviously wrong. Often people like to take a part from the bible and fix-point on it, but cut out the context... If verses 1-5 were cut out and there was fix-point on 6 and 7.... then they use that as the message... You just did what Satan did with Jesus in Matthew 4:1-11... And when you make loopholes in a verse you are believing a lie... Context. Always read the context...

As I said beginning in this post, I am adamantly for loving the gays... Matthew 5-7 and 1 Corinthians 13 and Ephesians 4:17-32 talk about loving everyone and what love is and how truth is part of love. Other verses on sexual immorality:

LEVITICUS 18; MATTHEW 15:19; MARK 7:21; ACTS 15:20 & 29; 21:25; 1 CORINTHIANS 6:18; 7:2; 10:8; 2 CORINTHIANS 12:21; EPHESIANS 5:3; COLOSSIANS 3:5; GALATIANS 5:19-21 [Read it in NLT]

EDIT: I have also heard many Christians say that the OT law does not matter anymore... That since Jesus Christ died for us the OT no longer is important. I would like to challenge that... The Pentetuch was the foundation which taught the origins of man, the fall of man and the laws of God... How, may I ask, is that not important to our faith?

Sin is sin. It was sin then, is now and always will be. We say that God is a never changing God... But to say that He changed His mind about what is sin is to say He, Himself has changed. Though we are freed from the consequence of sin (death) if we believe the entirety of the Nicene Creed:

WE BELIEVE in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.

For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
and was made man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

And if we repent of all our sin. Christ did not tell the woman caught in adultary; "I don't condemn you... Go and continue to commit adultary because my forgiveness covers you..." He told her that He would not condemn her and to "Go and sin no more..." [John 8:1-11]
