“YOU LYING SON OF A BITCH!”

“Hunter, please let me explain”

“No! You don't deserve it! What the hell was that!? We went out for our anniversary only for you to lie about your job for years and then kill four individuals right in front of us!” Hunter snarled, storming into the kitchen of their shared house.

On the sofa sat Rex, Jesse and Echo, three brothers of law enforcement. All of their attention turned to the arguing couple while in the kitchen doorway was Tech and Wrecker, both of them stopping in mid conversation.

“Hunter…let's take this somewhere private” Crosshair said in a calm tone while avoiding the others' looks.

“No! You either tell me who you really are here or we are done…” Hunter glared, crossing his arms tightly across his chest while tightening his fists.

With a bare glance around the room, Crosshair could only sigh inwardly as he looked down at his left hand, the one that held the ring. Tears threatened to slip down his vision as he dialled a number on his phone. The others could only watch as he brought the phone to his ear.

“State your number”

Crosshair bluntly spoke, “CC-9904” his eyes never left Hunter who frowned.

“Message sender?”

“MC-2224” looking down at his ring again, Crosshair sighed.

“Awaiting confirmation. Dialled straight through. Please leave a message after the countdown…in five, four, three, two, one…”

Moving slightly, Hunter watched Crosshair closely as he admired photos on the wall. The automatic tone disappeared replacing it with one of familiarity.

“Crosshair what can I do for you?”

“I've been compromised”

“By who?”

“On an outing the SB brothers”

“Who was caught in the action?”

“01” Hunter frowned, staring directly at Crosshair who stepped aside. Allowing Wrecker to enter the room fully. Tech's eyes twitched as he and Echo shared a confused look.

“I see, your plan?”

“Operation:Havok”

“Permission?”

“Order 4282618”

“Granted, coordinates to fix by the Marauder”

“Capture?”

“Briefly direct. I will deal with your compromised position, do not worry about it”

“Just don't hurt them”

“I won't but do expect some punishment, you were warned several times”

“Understood”

“Dismissed”

Hanging up, Crosshair walked over to the table and removed his rings, placing them directly in front of Hunter who's eyes widened in shock.

“For the sake of you all, I can't risk staying any longer. I'm sorry…” Crosshair went to leave when a hand grabbed his arm. Following that hand, he found Rex staring back at him.

“What do you mean? What is Hunter going about? Did you kill someone?” Rex asked, in confusion. Crosshair barely blinked before he glanced to the right and saw the red dots aimed at Hunter's chest. Without warning he flipped Rex into Hunter sending them both to the floor before he tackled both Echo and Jesse just as bullets lit up the house.
