"I don't want to lose you." She whispered, feeling choked up.

He understood where her thoughts were because as always, they were on the same page. Sebastian's smile was equally devastating as he continued to brush his fingers along the outline of her face until he reached her chin.

"Gracie," He whispered, his breath fanning across her lips. "You are my life now. Please don't ever think that my love for you is fragile. Death won't be the thing to separate us. Memory or not, you have always been and always will be as vital as breathing. Every breath of mine is yours to take. Every inch of me is yours to take." She felt his lips curl as a naughty smile took over, "Speaking of that, I've got nine for you tonight like the good girl you are."

She pulled away to give him a flat stare, "You can never be serious, can you?"

"I am being serious. Take me to bed, woman." He winked, but then had to blink a few times. "Mostly because I'm dizzy from Apparating across the bloody pond and I'm going to inevitably pass out soon."

With a shake of her head, Gracie walked with him towards what she assumed to be the bedroom. Still... She couldn't wrap her head around Dinah possibly being a traitor. It seemed far fetched and on the verge of being impossible. Pergit following Ominis to Rookwood's castle was the more likely possibility.

But even then... Gracie still had a nagging feeling that she was missing something.

Something crucial.

Chapter Seventy Five: Breakfast - Sebastian's POV / Mature Read

Sebastian blinked slowly, dazed from having passed out as soon as his head hit the pillow last night. He didn't even remember changing out of his clothes, but his witch had put him in a pair of sleeping trousers. A sleepy smirk toyed on his lips, wondering if she'd enjoyed the view of him naked.

Huh...

Turning his head, he looked at the empty side of the bed. Speaking of his shortcake, where was she? Sebastian patted the empty side once, frowning to learn it was cold. Whatever she was up to, she hadn't been beside him in a while, and the fact that he hadn't woken up the instant she left pissed him off.

What if someone had tried to attack?

What if someone had tried to take them away from him?

His nostrils flared in anger at the thought of another Dark wizard or one of Ranrock's scum taking his shortcake. Sebastian pushed the blanket off him, noticing the room was no longer dusty and smelled of stagnant air.

In fact... It smelled like smoke.

Panic seized him.

He jumped out of bed, accio-ing his wand while he sprinted into the living room. The first thing Sebastian noticed was the smoke billowing from a pan on the stove and hitting the ceiling. Gracie backed up, coughing as she swished her wrist; dissipating the smoke.

Sebastian walked forward, his bare chest bumping into her back as he reached over her and killed the flame. To his utter bemusement, there looked to be something food related in the pan. He couldn't really tell what it used to be seeing as it was practically two lumps of coal.

"Do I want to know?" He asked in a dry, flat tone before another question popped in his mind, "Where did you get food?" She stiffened and didn't look at him. Suspicion and worry sharpened his tone, "Gracie. Did you leave the cabin?"
