Shai POV

I walked downstairs to see my Mom watching TV and I plopped down on the couch next to her.

"Why don't you look beautiful-"

She sighed, "Shai what did you do ?"

"I didn't do anything, it's what I need."

"It shouldn't be money, because you have a job."

"Nope, I just need a special favor from a special someone."

I started poking her arm, "Soooo, are you going to hear me out ?"

"Go right ahead."

"I just need you to take me to the mall-"

"You know, you wouldn't have to be asking anyone if you just got your license, but continue."

I groaned, "May you please take me to the mall."

"For a date ?", She squealed.

"Yes Mom, a date."

She jumped up, "Let me go fetch my keys !"

.... ......

"It's more of a casual thing, so I'm thinking shorts and a top."

She nodded as we started looking through the racks of clothing.

"So who's the lucky guy ?"

"His name is Marcus."

"Why does his name sound so familiar ?"

I grabbed a pair of black ripped shorts and stared at it, trying to decide of I wanted them or not.

"He's one of Mell's childhood friend."

"The one who always stayed with the nice fade haircut ?"

"No, that's Snoop. Marcus is the one who had the dreads."

I held the shorts as I started looking for a top.

"Isn't that the one who got suspended from elementary for cutting someone's hair ?"

I laughed, "That's the one."

She handed me a pink top, "So bad boys are your type I'm guessing ?"

"I don't know to be honest. It depends on how this one goes."

"I always thought Jacob was a nice boy."

I gave her a are you serious face, "Mom he wore ties everyday with every outfit. He couldn't even handle Dad."

She shrugged, "He was a nice young man."

"I'll look for some accessories, can you help me with the shoes."

She nodded and I wandered off to where the accessories were displayed. I grabbed this cute necklace that had many different items on it, then some bracelets that looked similar.

"Shai do you like these black sandals ?"

I looked over and smiled, "Good taste Mommy."

She smirked, "Age doesn't have anything to do with style."

.... .....

We got back to the house and I threw the shopping bags on my bed. I walked out of my room and headed towards Josiah's room.
