The next day at school, Ann got a call from the office saying her dad was here to pick her up. Her face lost it's usual happy smile and turned into one of terror as she left the classroom. I panicked a little afraid that he would do something to her and just hoped that she would be ok. She didn't deserve the hell she was getting.

The day passed rather fast without having Ann here to brighten my day and by the time the final bell rang I rushed out the school doors. As I walked home I wondered where Andy was in this exact moment and hoped he was handling everything well. My chances of ever seeing him were slim and I felt saddened every time I thought of never getting to see him again.

When I got home I rushed up to my room and dialed Ann's number. When she didn't answer I tried again getting the operator once more. Sighing I threw my phone on the bed and looked out the window at the clouds passing by. As they blew through the sky, I couldn't shake the feeling that something or rather  someone was watching me.

Getting up and walking closer to my window I opened it and looked around the backyard. In the distance I saw a silhouette that resembled Andy's body and that's when I rushed down the stairs taking two at a time.

"Whoa there. Where are you going in such a hurry?" Dad asked stopping me right by the door.

"I'm going for a walk" I said putting on my jacket and unlocking the door.

"Ok but don't stay out too long." Dad shouted as I barely heard it already rushing outside. I went towards the back of the house and looked out to the trees in the far distance. As I stared, the silhouette appeared again much closer. I walked towards the figure and once they stepped out to the son, it was Andy with a big smile on his face.

My heart filled with joy as I ran towards him and crashed my lips to his. He smiled against my lips as I deepened the kiss not wanting to let him pull away. When we finally broke apart, he leaned his forehead on mine and stared deeply into my eyes.

"Miss me?" He asked making me lean in for another kiss. I nodded my head as tears of happiness pooled in my eyelids. I grabbed him by his hand and pulled him towards the backdoor entrance, taking a seat on the steps there.

"How did you get back? Where were you? Are you ok?" I asked piling question after question on him not really waiting for an answer wanting to know everything at once.

"Well if you let me speak I can tell you." He said and I couldn't help but notice how much happier and different he looked. His face had gained some color back instead of the usual pale shade and he had seemed to gain some weight. My heart filled with joy at being able to see Andy so happy for once.

"For starters when I left you, I started looking for some sort of shelter. Anything really that kept me hidden and safe worked so I would sleep in garbage bins or sometimes I would ask for permission to stay at a homeless shelter. After much running I ended up leaving and going to a small town just outside the city. My life felt ruined and I honestly thought of giving up if I couldn't be with you anymore." He told me and that broke my heart since I had thought the same thing. I pulled him to me and laid his head on my shoulder running my hand through his hair.
