The door slammed  behind the two girls, creating an ominous scene within Bella's home. Rowan turned on the lights, and in front of her a figure appeared. Rowan's heart leaped into her throat at the sudden appearance of Alice. Her unexpected arrival caused both girls to jump. While Bella's expression softened into one of relief at the sight of her friend, Rowan's features twisted into a mix of surprise and confusion.

Alice stood before them, her demeanor calm yet determined, her golden eyes locking onto Rowan's with an intensity that sent a shiver down her spine. Despite the initial shock, Rowan couldn't shake the feeling of unease that settled over her like a heavy blanket, her instincts warning her to tread carefully in the presence of the vampire.

"Alice?" Bella gasped, pulling her in for a hug.

"Bella!" Alice said, looking at the two with an equal look of shock.

"I- I'm sorry. I just can't believe you're here." The human responded.

"Would you like to explain to me how you're alive? And dry?" Alice questioned, looking at her.

"What?" Bella asked.

"I saw a vision of you." The vampire stated, "You jumped off a cliff! Why the hell would you try to kill yourself? I mean what about Charlie? What about-"

"I didn't try to kill myself. I was trying to cliff jump. Recreationally, to have fun." She responded, earning an eye roll from Rowan.

"Yeah, something I didn't know when I pushed her out of the way in hopes of 'saving her.'" Rowan sighed allowing her damp self to be seen, "I was the one that ended up in danger because of it."

Alice groaned, looking at Bella with a hint of disappointment. She gave a sheepish smile before making her way to the kitchen, the familiar scent of brewing coffee filling the air as she prepared herself a cup to help with the cold from outside.

Alice was now seated on the large couch in the living room, engaged in conversation with Bella as Rowan opted for the smaller one-person couch behind them. Her hands were gripping the edge of the seat as she anxiously tapped her foot. Her gaze shifted between Bella and Alice, her emotions a tangled mess of frustration and uncertainty.

As she observed the interaction between her friend and the vampire, Rowan couldn't help but feel a hint of resentment towards the Cullens. Despite her tolerance for Alice, she couldn't shake the frustration of how they had all abandoned Bella when she needed them most.
