Jihyo lightly stirred her drink with the small straw it came with, wanting to occupy her hands to distract everyone from the fact that she wasn't drinking.

Usually she was a great drinker, but this one was strong, bitter, and headache inducing. She thought that the color reflected the taste. It was a brownish yellow, almost like the color of cheaply made faux gold. Both the taste and sight were strange and metallic.

Jihyo scrunched up her nose and traced her finger over the condensation on the side of the glass, making random lines and patterns.

"...we were laughing so hard and then the room went silent! Everyone was staring at us!" Jeongyeon spoke animatedly. It went unnoticed by Jihyo as she was spaced out. "Right Jihyo?"

This brought Jihyo out of her trance.

"What?" She asked, surprised that Jeongyeon was addressing her. Jihyo looked across the table to look at the girl. All the eyes of their friends were on her.

"Jeongyeon was talking about when you spit out your coffee and everyone was staring at you." Momo gently repeated, a hand caressing Jihyo's arm. At the sight of Jihyo's confused expression she continued. "...at the cafe?" She encouraged.

Momo knew this was always how Jihyo got whenever Jeongyeon was around. She squeezed Jihyo's arm in an attempt to comfort her.

"Oh! Right, right. Yeah I remember." Jihyo nodded and awkwardly laughed, cringing at the memory. She tried not to show her discomfort but her face betrayed her, lips forming into a straight line although she meant for it to be a smile.

That was almost 2 months ago. When Jihyo and Jeongyeon were still dating.

The attention shifted away as Sana started to tell another story in her cute high pitched voice.

Jihyo looked around the table. Momo, Sana, Dahyun, Tzuyu...and Jeongyeon. Jihyo let herself stare at her ex for a moment and she almost had to force herself to look away again.

It was so weird how she still kept contact with Jeongyeon. For instance, this moment right now. Jeongyeon was still in their friend group but between the two it was awkward, or at least it was for Jihyo.

Tonight they all decided to get drinks at their favorite bar. And Jihyo just couldn't keep her thoughts away from Jeongyeon. It was especially strange how the older girl never stopped having interactions with Jihyo. Jeongyeon would constantly talk to her as if they had no past.

Honestly, Jihyo was fed up with it. How could Jeongyeon sit there and talk to her when all Jihyo thought about was the fact that she missed her ex. How could Jeongyeon laugh at her friends' stories when Jihyo was right there, occupying the same table. Did the breakup even affect her? How could she cover it all up?

How could she appear in front of Jihyo, looking this pretty, with a smile on her face like Jihyo hadn't cried her eyes out the night before.

Jihyo would be happy if she could just see Jeongyeon vulnerable for a moment. Just for one second, she wanted to see Jeongyeon bothered by their breakup.

Jihyo dared to spare one more glance at Jeongyeon, memories of late nights and cherished moments flashing across her eyes. It almost made her hate Jeongyeon. Almost. Only if she didn't still love her so much.
