Breach

The opening ends to see Jaune Arc is sleeping during the night inside JNPR's dorm room.

Jaune: Waffles...

Jaune suddenly wakes up to a call on his Scroll, with the ringtone "It's a Big Ursa!" playing.

Jaune: Hello?

Jaune hears noise for six seconds from Ruby's Scroll before the call ends.

Jaune: Uh, Ruby?

Morning of Mission

Later on, Team JNPR walks at dawn towards their Bullhead.

Pyrrha: I'm sure they're fine.

Jaune: You think?

Nora: Probably a butt dial...

Ren: Team RWBY has always performed exceptionally in the field. We should be focusing on our own mission.

Nora: We're gonna be deputies!

Jaune: I just got this feeling... I don't know.

Pyrrha: Jaune...

Suddenly, alarms ring out as they see the city up in smoke.

Jaune: We're changing our mission. Everyone on board!

As the team heads toward their Bullhead, Jaune does a headcount.

Jaune: Ren, we'll make it to that village another time. Take us into the city!

As the Bullhead takes off, Mercury Black, Cinder Fall, and Emerald Sustrai watch nearby.

Emerald: You don't think...

Mercury: Sure looks like it.

Emerald: That's still days away! Also, Hatch was supposed to keep him in check!

Mercury: So? What do we do?

The camera pans to a close-up of Cinder's face before she makes her decision.

The Breach of Vale

Team RWBY and Team RD are surrounded in the middle of the pavilion by Beowolves, Ursai, and a massive King Taijitu. The King Taijitu unleashes a mighty roar, signaling the Grimm to attack. Quickly springing into action, the teams began making short work of the assembled lower-level Grimm.

Ruby Rose embeds her scythe into the ground and uses it as support to kick away at the Grimm around her. Yang Xiao Long uses a Creep as a springboard to jump high into the air and bombard the Grimm with her gauntlets until she is brought down by three small Nevermores. Blake Belladonna dodges a swipe from a Beowolf and kills it by stabbing it in the head, then proceeds to shoot the Creeps that are charging at her with her weapon in pistol mode. Weiss Schnee kills three Beowolves with Myrtenaster and kills a few other Grimm with a giant ice sword she conjured. Donald is seen using a combination of earth and fire Dust against the Nevermore's and uses his punch to knock away a Beowolf, before another Creep decides to get up close and personal, occupying him while he shoots arrows of fire at it, finally killing them. Rody leaps into the air and slams both fists into the head of the King Taijitu, disorienting it before landing in front of some beowolves and Ursa's. Rody then activates his Semblance as they start attack, launching two Aura shots at the Beowolves before unleashing a flurry of blows onto the first Ursa, kicking it into the second one. He then grabs an ice Dust crystal and combines it with his Semblance freezing the Ursa's and then delivering a shattering punch on them. He then dodges the pouncing Beowolves and kickflips towards some more Grimm. Then Yang sends a car flying towards a few Grimm while Ruby kills two in front of the King Taijitu. As Ruby finishes slashing at a Grimm, she notices the King Taijitu ready for the attack, until she also sees Nora Valkyrie flying on Magnhild towards the King Taijitu, slamming it on the head and killing the beast.
