Extracurricular

The scene opens to Pyrrha gearing up in a locker room. As she walks out of the locker room, we cut to her sparring with Cardin Winchester and back again. Eventually, the fight scene includes the other members of Team CRDL.

While she is still exiting toward the arena, the scene cuts to her spar with Team CRDL.

Glynda approaches from behind Cardin who clutches his ribs.

Glynda: And that's the match.

Cardin: Lucky shot.

Cardin collapses.

Rody: ("Take that loser.")

Glynda: Well done, Miss Nikos. You should have no problem qualifying for the tournament.

Pyrrha: Thank you, professor.

Glynda: (Tapping her Scroll.) Alright, now I know that's a tough act to follow, but we have time for one more sparring match. (Glynda looks around at the observing students.) Any volunteers? Ms. Belladonna? (Blake slams her book shut and stares wide-eyed at Glynda.) You've been rather docile for the past few classes. Why don't you -

Mercury raises his hand.

Mercury: I'll do it.

Glynda: Mercury, is it? Very well, let's find you an opponent.

Mercury: Actually, I wanna fight... him.

Mercury then points to Donald of all people, and Donnie just looked at him in surprise.

Donald: Me?

Glynda: I recommend you choose another partner.

Donald: No, it's fine. I'd be happy to oblige. ("Let's see what you've got.")

Arena

Mercury struts into the arena, visibly sizing up Donnie. This wasn't that hard since they were the same height. Their spar begins when he makes the first attack and is knocked down, since Donnie uses his elbow to block the kick. Mercury charges in and kicks at Donnie, however the latter expected that to happen and just ducked down to avoid the kick. Donald sees and opening and punches Mercury sending him back. Mercury swiftly gets up and charges at Onyx again. He sends a barrage of kicks all aimed at Onyx's face, the latter blocking all of them with his arms, albeit barely. ("He's quick!") Both grunt in frustration and then Mercury tries one more kick at Onyx's face. This time, Donald catches his leg. He spins 360 degrees while holding Mercury's leg thus sending his body with him. Before that, Mercury lands a right hook-on Donnie's face. He throws Mercury away as both aura bar drops slightly. Mercury gives a slight smirk.

Mercury: You're good.

Donald just shrugs as he cracks his neck and gestures with his hand to come at him.

Donnie: ("He's feeling me out, trying to make sure I don't use my semblance.")

Mercury chuckles for a few seconds and then leaps at Donald mid-air. He spins and brings his foot down on Donnie. He jumps back to avoid the kick, barely. After landing on the floor, he crouches down and spins with one leg out. However, Donald does a one-handed flip to avoid the sweeping leg. Once he touches the ground, he swings his right leg at Mercury. The latter reacts in time and blocks his kick. Mercury quickly gets up and tries to uppercut Donald, but Donald leans back to dodge. Donald and Mercury begin trading punches and kicks for a good minute before Donnie does a spinning back kick to push him away using wind Dust. He grunts in pain before standing back up and the two stare down.
