CASSANDRA KHAN

I walk upstairs to the third floor and pick a room at the farthest, I walk into it and move closer to the windows and just gaze at the warmth of the yard here. I am most mesmerized by the view the top floor has.

It is so beautiful out here, so magical.
I take a moment to appreciate the beauty of nature. It would be monumental to catch the sunrise or sunset from this view.
I can not wait for it.

Looking at beauty in front of me, made me wish my life was as beautiful as it is out there.
Does nature also ever experience bad times and be defeated like we human beings do?

Oh yeah, probably winter could be it's dark days but even then, it is still spectacularly beautiful. It is so unfair.

"Cassy?" I turn when I hear Aaron calling me.
I step out of the room to go look for him because he sounded far.

"Cassy?"

"Yes," I call back however we can not meet. I can't quite hear where he is coming from.

"Aaron?"

"Cassy, where are you?" He yells and I know for sure that his voice is coming from downstairs.

"Third floor Aaron, I am upstairs," I shout while walking to go see him but we meet in the middle of the stairs.
Hearing his footsteps, makes me pause and look up to be bewitched by his gaze.

I hold his gaze,
I can hear his eyes screaming. They are so loud as they gaze into my black ink like eyes unfortunately, I can not make up their screams.

I can feel the tension as we bore into each other's gaze.
One of my hands is resting on the railings and my hold tightens as I look at him while both of his hands are holding my bags.

Time passes but when we hear movements, the spell breaks. He clears his throat.

"I wanted to know what room you picked so I could bring your bags." I nod my head.

"This way," I say to him.
Turning to go show him my room.
I don't bother to check if he follows, I just walk with my head held high.
Like I do not want to crawl somewhere.

I show him the room I picked and he brings my bags in. He puts them on the bed and then turn to look at me.
I don't dare stare into his eyes again, I shift on my feet feeling so tense under his scrutiny eyes.

I don't know what happened to us but one thing is very clear, the plane incident screwed us. I am not appreciative of it not even for a second. We were so fine, everything was starting to look better and now here we are and truly I don't know the hell that is going on.

I don't even know what I am doing here in Montego Bay.

He clears his throat but I don't look at him. "So, would you mind me staying on this floor with you or do you need space?" That makes me look up at him.

I arch my brows in confusion because I am confused. Space from what?
"Space for what?" He shrugs his shoulders while he tugs his hands into his pockets.

"I don't know, why would you choose the farthest room from everyone else if you are not looking for space?" I give him a small smile.
So that's what he thinks. I look at him and just shake my head.

"I am not looking for space Aaron, you know the best view is always at the top so I chose this room for simply that matter." He nods his head, when I look at him he averts his gaze away from mine, and when he pulls one of his hand to the back of his neck.
I realize he is shy. Why is he shy?
Why is he being so confusing?

"You will not mind then if I pick a room on this floor?"

"I will not mind, Aaron."

"Aaron. Cassy. Lunch is ready."
