Kim Jennie

I stood still staring at the closed door for what felt like forever. I can't believe that just happened. I would blame it on the alcohol, but we really didn't drink that much. Plus, we just ate a shit load of pizza. No, that wasn't alcohol. That was years of built-up sexual tension, and not just from me. Taehyung seemed to want me just as much as I wanted him. I know he's always been a ladies' man, but he wouldn't play me.

Would he?

I couldn't help but wonder what would have happened if Junseo didn't text. Making my way to the couch, I laid back and stared at the ceiling. I know exactly what would have happened.

I lightly touched my lips at the memory of his mouth capturing mine. The thought of his hot that kiss was, and what else he could he with that mouth, sent shiver through my body. I closed my eyes and pictured him kissing down my neck.

Sadness took over when i remember this was Kim Taehyung, the boy who couldn't stand of me. Of course, that was years ago. We are both different people now.

Did he want me, though? Or was he just being a guy taking what was in front of him at the time?

______

It had been a few days, and i hadn't heard from Taehyung. The rehearsal dinner was tonight. Followed by drinks and small party at the Kim home. As I got ready, fear crept up in the back of my mind.

Since I hadn't spoke with Taehyung, did that mean he didn't want to take me anymore?

He usually would reach out explaining the game plan for the night's festivities. Of course, i already knew the details about the dinner. We had discussed it previously. Thinking back, the only time he had reached out is when he had information about an event. I felt like that was my answer. I was reading too much into this. This is just an arrangement Mrs. L had made, nothing more. .

I decided on dark leggings that we're tight enough for wear my knee-high boots over. I had a long, form fitting sweater dress that was dark red with subtly sparkles. It was tasteful yet sexy. But, more importantly, it was comfortable.

Snowflakes started to fall from the sky as i drove to the restaurant. Not a lot, but enough to coag the area in a white shimmering glitter. Although I was in a bit of Christmas slump this year, i still couldn't help but smile. It was dusk, so the twinkling of lights began to line the houses. There were a few couples walking side by side, with their hats, gloves and scarves.

What would it be like to be one of those couples? Inove, taking in the fresh snowfall. Probably discussing plans for the upcoming holiday. Stealing a sweet, frozen kiss.

I sighed, thinking how far away I am from a relationship like that. If i kept pining over Taehyung, I'd never find someone to spend my life with.

_______

Pulling into the parking lot, I noticed how beautifully decorated the restaurant was. I almost laughed out loud. How genius it was to have a wedding during the holiday season. Everything is already decorated for you.

I saw Taehyung as i walked inside. A huge smile spread across his face when he saw me. I couldn't help but smile back.

"There you are."

I looked around. "You didn't have to wait for me. I'm sure I could have found the party."

He gave me a playful look. "What kind of date would I be if I just let you wonder around this restaurant alone?"

I turned around when he gestured to remove my coat. Before I could fully take it off, he pulled me back, gripping the coat so I couldn't move. I could feel his chest on my back, and his breath on my ear.

"Plus, i want to be sure all the men here know you are mine."

Goosebumps took over my body.

His?

Surely, he meant just for tonight.

After handing my coat to the hung up, Taehyung led me back to the party. The room was filed with people, and just like the outside, decorated beautifully.

"Am i late?" I have Taehyung a panicked look.

He grinned and shook his head. "No. Don't worry, more people are coming."

"Oh." I didn't realize so many people were going to be here. "Are all these people going to your parent's house after?"

He shook his head, "Only a select few. You are coming, right?"

I almost smiled at his pleading look. "If you want me to."

"Of course." He replied as if it was a silly response. "You are my date, after all."

"Jennie! Sweetheart, I am glad you could make it."

Mrs. K looked beautiful with her black slacks with a silver sparkling shirt. She gave me an enormous hug.

"Mrs. K! You look incredible."

She just waved me off like it was unnecessary to give the compliment. "Thank you, dear."

"Thank you?" Taehyung asked, confused. "I said you look incredible, and you told me to stop being smart."

Mrs. K laughed as she hooked her elbow in mine and led me further into the party.

"Sometimes he thinks he's so charming." She leaned in and spoke quietly. "I love to mess with him."

"I heard that." Taehyung said as he followed us.

I couldn't help but laugh. The feeling of joy immediately went to my heart. That feeling began to fade as soon as I realized this wasn't real.

The next couple of hours went by in a blur. I was sucked into the living atmosphere. I giggled at the funny stories that were shared. Ate delicious food with equally delicious drinks. I was honestly really enjoying the family time. I don't know why, but i felt like I was home.
