Sara and Ashley exchanged smiles as they entered Alex's cozy apartment for their movie night. The room was dimly lit, with the soft glow of string lights casting a warm ambiance. Sara's eyes immediately landed on Alex and Mia who were already settled on the couch, wrapped in each other's arms,
Sara couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy as she watched them. The warmth between them seemed to fill the room, making Sara feel like an outsider.

"Hey guys, we brought the popcorn and drinks," Ashley chirped, trying to break the tension in the room.

Alex and Mia looked up Mia smiled warmly at them. "Hey! Thanks for coming over. We're just getting cozy here," Mia said,

Sara forced a smile and tried to push away her feelings of jealousy. She glanced over at Jack, who was sitting in the armchair, looking a bit uncomfortable as he observed the scene unfolding in front of him.

"Hey Jack, how are you doing?" Sara asked, making her way over to him.

"I'm good, thanks. Just enjoying the company," Jack replied with a small smile.

Sara felt a little reassured by Jack's presence and decided to focus on enjoying the movie night with her friends. However, deep down, the jealousy continued to gnaw at her heart, making her wonder if she would ever find the kind of connection Alex and Mia shared.

The atmosphere felt a bit awkward. Ashley settled in the corner of the couch, leaving just one empty space next to Alex.

Realizing there was no other option, Sara hesitantly made her way to the vacant spot next to Alex. She tried to act casual as she took a seat, but she couldn't shake off the uneasy feeling of being the odd one out in the room.

Jack, noticing the tension, tried to lighten the mood by cracking a joke. "Well, this is cozy, isn't it? Looks like we've got ourselves a full house tonight." The room was filled with smile

Sara felt Alex's gaze on her, and she couldn't help but steal a glance back at him

Sara glanced back at Alex, catching him in the act. Their eyes locked for a moment, the tension palpable in the air. She quickly averted her gaze, feeling a mix of confusion and curiosity stirring within her.

As the movie continued to play on the screen, Sara couldn't help but steal glances of her own whenever she thought Alex wasn't looking. There was something about his gaze that intrigued her, something she couldn't quite put her finger on. Was it just a fleeting moment, or was there something more beneath the surface?

Meanwhile, Mia snuggled closer to Alex, completely absorbed in the movie. She was oblivious to the silent exchange between Alex and Sara, lost in her own world of comfort and contentment.
Suddenly, Mia's phone rang, interrupting the peaceful atmosphere of the living room. With a sigh, she picked up the call, listening intently to her parents on the other end of the line. She furrowed her brow as she heard the urgent reason for their call. Her little brother needed babysitting as they had to leave town for an emergency.

Mia's face fell slightly as she realized she had to leave her friends and Alex,
With heavy heart Mia reluctantly bid her goodbyes,
Alex awkwardly shifts in his seat as he watches Sara's expression change. Sara looks down, trying to hide her disappointment with a forced smile. Mia gives Alex a quick kiss on the lips and whispers, "I'll see you later."

As Mia leaves, Sara can't help but feel a pang of jealousy. She turns her attention back to the movie, trying to shake off the feeling. Alex glances at Sara nervously, unsure of what to say. Jack and Ashley exchange knowing looks, sensing the tension in the room.

As the movie played on the screen, Alex couldn't focus on the plot. He could feel the tension between him and Sara lingering in the air like a thick fog. Every time he glanced in Sara's direction, his heart skipped a beat.

Unbeknownst to Alex, he had been inching closer to Sara throughout the movie. He was so lost in his thoughts that he failed to notice how close he had gotten to her. Sara, on the other hand, felt his presence beside her before she even saw him.

The room was filled with an unspoken tension, the kind that made the air crackle with electricity. Sara's heart was racing, unsure of what to make of Alex's proximity. She stole a quick glance at him and found him looking at her with a mix of emotions she couldn't quite place.

Feeling his gaze on her, Sara turned her head slightly and their eyes met. In that moment, time seemed to stand still. Alex's heart raced as he saw the mixture of emotions in Sara's eyes. He could see confusion, curiosity, and something more that he couldn't quite identify.

Without breaking eye contact, Alex opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out. He was at a loss for what to say. Sara's gaze was intense, and he could feel himself getting lost in her eyes.

Ashley observed the silent exchange between Alex and Sara, sensing an unspoken tension lingering in the air. She gently approached Sara and whispered, "Sara, I think we should get going. You look exhausted." Sara blinked, glancing back at Alex for a brief moment before turning her gaze to Ashley. With a sigh, Sara nodded "You're right. Let's head out." They bid their good bye to Alex and jack.
Alex watched as they walked away, his eyes betraying a hint of longing as he saw Sara leave.

As they left, the unspoken questions and emotions lingered, creating a sense of unresolved tension in the wake of their departure.
