Daydreams

Oh, the dreams of my youth, they linger and stay,
A world of wonder, a world of play,
Where the lines of reality blur and fade,
And the magic of imagination reigns, unmade.

In my mind's eye, I soared on wings of glee,
A princess, a dragon, a world to see,
The trees were tall, the skies were bright,
And my heart was filled with delight.

But now, as I stand in this world of stone,
I find it hard to tell what's truly known,
The dreams of childhood, they still linger on,
And I'm left to wonder, what is real, what's done.

The memories of laughter, the tears of joy,
The magic of dreams, the world of employ,
I cannot tell, if it's just a dream,
Or if it's the reality, that I've always known.

Oh, the daydreams of my childhood, they stay,
A world of wonder, a world of play,
And though I've grown older, the magic remains,
A world of dreams, a world of gains.
