CHAPTER 40

The room's door opened but I wasn't really looking since I was trying to take in what Ella had said

"Kate, you're awake?" I heard a female's excited voice ask and soon someone came flying at me and enveloped me in a killer hug

"Nice to see you too Freddie" I said as I patted her back with the only available hand that I had left

Suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my ribs and I groaned making Freddie release me at once as she looked at me worried

"Kate are you OK?" Someone asked and I looked up to see......

"Jace?" I asked and the person chuckled

"Wow. Looks like someone's not interested to see me but someone else" he said and I smirked

"Come on Luke, I am excited to see you" I said and he looked at me quizzingly

"For the first time in my life I'll take your word for it" he said and gave me a hug

"By the way Cat, don't get used to this" he said for only my hearing and I chuckled

"OK, Leak" he said and we laughed at the new names we had found for eachother

"Kids, please excuse us for a minute" Dad said and then all the grownups left the room

"So now Kate, you gotta tell me how you you ended up in Florida" Luke said excitedly as he sat on the bed beside me and shook me making me groan in pain

"You rat, can't you see she's hurt?" Kyle asked angry and Luke rolled his eyes

"Do I look blind?" Luke retaliated and Freddie walked over to Kyle and placed her hand on his chest

"Don't mind him babe, Luke will always be Luke" she said and then they kissed right there and then

My mouth literally flew open and Luke cringed at the sight

"Get a room people" he said while making barf noises and they laughed looking at both our expressions

"OK I'm lost, can someone please tell me what the hell just happened?" I asked and Luke shook his head

"Don't ask me. I'm not gonna be the one to say it" he said and Freddie rolled her eyes

"Like we would've let you say it" she said and then they glared at eachother

"Woah please I'm not fully recovered to separate a fight here" I said with a chuckle and they just blew raspberries at eachother and folded their arms like kids

"Well when Jason came to save us I kinda got a bit lost and got separated from the rest" Kyle said

"And when I arrived I was kinda freaking out when I didn't see Kyle so I left the rest and went looking for him. I found him battling a man from Xander's army and went to help" Freddie said

"We defeated him alright but in the process she sprained her ankle and I had to carry her. I must say I was shocked and thrilled to see her in Florida fighting and saving people" Kyle said again

"And I guess after we came back to New York and she explained who she really was, I kinda felt something for her and we became a couple" he explained and I smiled

"I knew you two were meant for eachother. You just needed something to push you to see it" I said and they laughed

"I mean who didn't see it?" Luke asked with a scoff

"Kyle was the only guy she didn't punch or hurl insults at" he said with his arms folded and we laughed

I was discharged from the hospital the next day and we went back to the penthouse apartment
