WHEN REALITY HITS PERFECT

CHAPTER 31

My heart was beating violently in my chest and I felt a bit dizzy under the table

"That's impossible, only you know the password" Andrews said but Collins shook his head

"I know what I'm saying Andrews, someone's been here" Collins still insisted as he looked around for anything suspicious

My heart almost popped out of my chest when he stood so close the table and infact sat on it

I cupped my mouth and tried to control my heavy breathing

"I want you to get the security guards to look into every single person who's left the building and who's leaving" he ordered and Andrews nodded

"I won't let anybody, not even my wife stop me from getting what I want" he said through gritted teeth

He soon stood up and was about to leave when he suddenly stopped infront of the painting

"Now what?" I asked myself feeling bad for what was happening to me

"What boss?" Andrews asked him

Collins walked closer to it and straightened it

"Damn" I said, now he's really going to suspect that someone came in here

"Do a fingerprint scan on the painting and inform me whoever it matches with" was all he said before he walked out with Andrews following behind

As soon as the door closed I heard some voices outside and a huge shadow shadow loomed infront of the door and stood guard

"Shit, shit" I cursed as I got up from Under the table. I paced up and down thinking of how to get out when suddenly the door burst open and closed shut immediately

My heart immediately fell to my pinkie toe and my breath hitched when my eyes met deep black ones

"Calm down Miss, its just me" he said and I took in deep breathes to calm myself down

"Mr. Andrews" I said and he smiled

"You've not got a strong heart there" he said and I rolled my eyes

"How did you know that I was here?" I questioned and he grinned

"Everything shows that you were here plus, I saw a piece of your dress under the table" he answered honestly and I raised a brow up

"Get out Miss, hurry" he ordered as he dragged me out

"But what about the guard out there?" I asked

"I've sent him, but only for a while" he said

"And whatever you do, don't leave the premises" he warned and soon I was out of the office and ran downstairs as I took off the gloves and threw them somewhere

I arrived downstairs to see Rachael clinging unto Jace's arm and his eyes lit up to see me

A sign of relief appeared on both boys faces and they all rushed to see me. Especially Jace who looked thrilled to get Rachael off him

"You got it?" Cole asked and I scratched my  head

"Honestly, I don't know" I said and closed my eyes for what was about to happen next

"What do you mean you don't know?" Jace roared drawing a little attention to us

"Kate, you spent over an hour in the damn place and you're saying you don't know?" He questioned and Cole patted his back to try and calm him down

"Jace melo"

"A lot of people are here" he added and Jace took a deep Breath before calming down

Just as he was about to open his mouth and speak, we saw Rachael approaching with a wide smile on her face and smiling

Jace gasped and immediately grabbed my hand before dragging me towards the dance floor were others were dancing

"Please just dance with me away from Rachael and you'd make me the happiest man alive" he begged and hearing him say that without the Rachael part made my heart skip a beat

I felt blood rushing to my cheeks and immediately looked away

He took my hand and put his hand on my waist making me stiffen

"What?" He asked trying to have a look at my bowed head

"Nothing" I said and looked up making him smirk

"What?" I asked with a frown and he chuckled

"What's with the Blush?" He asked and I felt it heating up even more making him laugh

"Stop laughing at me" I said embarrassed and looked down

"Why?"

"Am I making you uncomfortable?" He asked and his grip around my waist tightened making me stiffen even more

"Wait, you're seriously uncomfortable?" He asked a bit surprised and I nodded with my head bowed

"That's surprising, coming from you" he said and I looked up again

"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked

"Well your father's a big person, haven't you been to balls or parties where you dance?" He asked and I shrugged

"I have, but I normally dance with my brother and no one else" I said and he grinned

"What's with the stupid grin?" I asked and he shrugged

"I was just thinking of how I was the luckiest guy in the universe" he said and I cocked my head looking at him confused

"And why's that?"

"Apart from your brother, I'm the first guy to dance with you" he said with a touch of pride and I looked at him not sure what to say

Another music started playing since the old one had ended and Jace swept me across the floor, literally

We danced like there was no tomorrow and later I began to relax with his hand around me

The music was so wonderful to dance to and people stopped dancing just to watch us.

I moved from my shy zone and paid attention to only me, the music and Jace. It wasn't really hard to since he had such a perfect face to watch

People crowded around us and cheered as we danced. Just as the song ended, Jace threw me up and caught me before he dipped me finalising the dance

The crowd went wild when we ended and Jace pulled me up as we breathed heavily at eachother

I felt his hot breath on my face and looked deep into those beautiful eyes of his. It took everything in me to not pull him in for a kiss

We broke away from eachother and I looked awkwardly away at how close we were before I realised something

I was in love with freaking Jason Astor

Hi cherished readers, hope you're all well. Looks like the story's getting more and more interesting and Kate just realised something. She's in love with Jace. Bet she knew it already but was just stubborn to admit it.
